The roots
1975
Elbert, S. | Colman, G.P.
In 1968, a project was launched to observe how farm families make decisions. tape recorded interviews with a panel of 20 families over a period of years has been used in the study. findings are being reported in a series which describes the family and how they made their decisions. these analyses can be used by teachers, extension workers, and others who are interested in decision making. this publication is No. 2 in the series. they are ambivalent as a family decision making unit. the father has been a strong family head, with skill in manipulating the family toward his own clearly defined goals. the wife and children's needs have given way to the need for success of the family farm. the future may bring changes in this pattern.
