Viabilidade econômica de biofábrica de Trichogramma pretiosum para uso contra pragas agrícolas da ordem Lepidoptera = Economic feasibility of bio-factory of Trichogramma pretiosum, for use against agricultural pest of the Lepidoptera Order

O Brasil vem se tornando um dos principais fornecedores internacionais de produtos agropecuários. Esses produtos são responsáveis por metade das exportações e por 21% do Produto Interno Bruto [PIB], mostrando a importância do setor para a economia. Paradoxalmente nota-se um aumento do uso de produtos químicos na produção agrícola, o que constitui barreira as exportações e até redução no consumo interno. A produção sob boas práticas agrícolas é uma demanda mundial, uma vez que barreiras ecológicas e/ou resíduos químicos ainda são empecilhos a expansão das exportações. Uma alternativa para mitigar o problema com os resíduos químicos, é o controle biológico de pragas fazendo uso de Trichogramma pretiosum pela sua eficiência no controle de pragas da ordem Lepidoptera e por ser fácil a sua criação em escala comercial em biofábricas. No entanto, existem poucas referências na literatura sobre a relação custo benefício deste empreendimento, visto que as metodologias utilizadas na criação de insetos não são divulgadas pelas empresas do setor. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a viabilidade econômica da construção e da implantação de uma Biofábrica de produção de Trichogramma, para controle biológico. O estudo indicou que o projeto é viável, com uma boa rentabilidade e um bom retorno sobre o investimento. = Brazil has become one of the main international suppliers of agricultural products. The products account for half of the exports and for 21% of the Gross Domestic Product [GDP], which shows the importance of the sector to the economy. Paradoxically, there is an increase in the use of chemical products in agricultural production, which constitutes a barrier to exports and even a reduction in domestic consumption. Production under good agricultural practices is a global demand since ecological barriers and/or chemical residues are still obstacles to the expansion of exports. An alternative to mitigate the problem with chemical residues is the biological control of pests making use of Trichogramma pretiosum for its efficiency in pest control of the order Lepidoptera and because it is easy to create it commercially in biofactories. However, there are few references in the literature on the cost benefit of this project, since the methodologies used in insect breeding are not disclosed by the companies in the sector. The objective of this work was to evaluate the economic viability of the construction and the implantation of a Biofactories of production of Trichogramma for biological control. The study indicated that the project is viable, with good profitability and a good return on investment.
