In the present study, genetic divergence was estimated among a set of 31 genotypes of linseed. The results of D2- analysis indicated the presence of high genetic diversity among the genotypes studied. The 31 genotypes were separated into eight clusters. Studies based on the present investigation, hybridization programme might be suggested for obtaining superior and desired gene recombinants of particular character. Hybridization programme could be taken between the genotypes of cluster II, VII and VIII for obtaining desirable recombinants for the characters such as plant height, capsules per plant, biological yield per plant, grain yield per plant, harvest index and biological yield per plot. Reciprocal crosses among Ayogi and SVBP 07 might be a good cross combination. Consequent upon the present findings it was concluded that the genotypes taken for the present study were having high range of genetic variability which may be used in hybridization programme for obtaining superior and desired gene recombinants for particular character.
