The review provides current information on bacterial lipopeptides, mainly those produced by representatives of the genus Bacillus, which play an important role in plant protection against fungi, bacteria, and viruses exhibiting fungicidal, antibacterial, antiviral, and insecticidal properties, as well as phytoimmuno-modulating activity. The present review highlights the characteristics of bacterial lipopeptides, the genes responsible for their production, isolation methods from bacteria and estimation methods (quantitative and qualitative). The plant-protective mechanisms in reaction to lipopeptides, which are associated with signaling systems regulated by salicylates and jasmonates, are discussed. The review confirms that the search for rhizosphere and endophytic strains are promising for the creation of biological products that protect plants from a complex pathogens and pests and stimulate crop growth and productivity.
