This article will examine a number of claims that naively relate sucrose intake to childhood behavior problems, as well as review a number of the experimental studies designed to investigate possible relationships. Plausible biochemical mechanisms that could allow sucrose intake to be related to changes in disruptive behavior and future research needs will also be examined.
