Guidance for locating, evaluating and using an array of nutrition education resources is provided. Discussed are: people resources (who to locate and where to find professionals); print and audiovisual resources (a list of generally reliable sources of materials); and evaluation of print and audiovisual resources. A number of factors must be considered when selecting materials: its intended use; technical quality, accuracy, and a balanced presentation. Nutrition resources can provide needed support for all aspects of school-based nutrition education but they must be scrutinized because of the vast array of misinformation available. (kbc)
