Field experiment was carried out to study the "Response of different sources and levels of phosphorus on growth and flowering of tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa L.) cv. Single" during 2010–11. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications. The treatments consisted of three sources of phosphorus namely Rock Phosphate, Single Super Phosphate, Triple Super Phosphate and four levels of phosphorus namely 50 kg P₂O₅/ha, 100 Kg P₂O₅/ha, 150 Kg P₂O₅/ha and 200 kg P₂O₅/ha and their combinations along with one additional treatment control (no fertilizer).The results of the study indicated that among different sources of phosphorus, Single Super Phosphate recorded significantly higher value for number of leaves/plant, number of tillers/plant, plant height, spike length, rachis length, number of florets/spike, duration of flowering and number of spikes, however it recorded minimum days to flowering. Phosphorus at 100 kg/ha recorded maximum value for the growth and flowering parameters, however phosphorus at 100kg/ha advanced the days to flowering. Interaction of Single Superphosphate among different sources of phosphorus and 100 kg P₂O₅/ha among different levels of phosphorus recorded maximum value for growth and flowering parameters, however this combination treatment advanced the days to flowering.
