Molecular genetic identification of alleles of self-incompatibility gene in Russian apple varieties

Six alleles of the self-incompatibility gene (S) in Russian-bred apple varieties are identified with the use of molecular DNA marking methods. An S genotype is established for a number of varieties. The most frequent alleles of the S gene of those studied during the investigation are revealed.
