New species of biting lice (Mallophaga) of the genera Penenirmus and Rostrinirmus

Descriptions are given of the following seven new species of biting lice (Mallophaga) collected off passerines in Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria (type hosts given in parentheses): Penenirmus barusi sp.n. (Phoenicurus ochruros), P. kuxi sp.n. (Locustella luscinioides), P. pikulai sp.n. (Sylvia nisoria), Rostrinirmus carpodaci sp.n. (Carpodacus erythrinus), R. hudeci sp.n. (Parus major), R. pflegeri sp.n. (Acroephalus palustris) and R. tulackovae sp.n. (Locustella fluviatilis). The genus Pleurinirmus Zlotorzycka, 1964 has been demonstrated to be a synonym of Penenirmus Clay et Meinertzhagen, 1938.
