1983
Bull, Nicola L. | Day, M.J.L. | Burt, R. | Buss, D.H.
Intakes of the major fatty acids from the British household food supply were calculated using food tables and data from the 1981 British National Food Survey. Intakes of saturated fatty acids (from C4 to C22) ranged from 0.2 (C22) to 23.1 (palmitic) g/person/day; of monounsaturated fatty acids (C14 to C22), from 0.1 (C15) to 30.3 (oleic) g/person/day; and of polyunsaturated fatty acids (C16:2 to C22:6), from 0.1 (C16:2 and C20:5) to 9.8 (linoleic) g/person/day. Data on contributions made by selected foods and food groups (milk products; meat products; fish products, eggs; fat products; vegetables, fruit and nut products; and cereals) to the g/person/day intakes of total fat and individual fatty acids also are included.
