biochemical changes in rice var. ADT 36 due to application of chemical inducers and pathogen inoculation
2011
Jaiganesh, V. | Eswaran, A.
Positive changes in the biochemical constituents of rice leaves due to resistance inducing chemical application and Helminthosporium oryzae inoculation were observed in pot culture experiment. The phenolic content (total and O.D. phenol) increased with application of chemical inducers. Reducing sugars were found generally decreased after the initial sampling. Application of resistance inducing chemicals reduced the accumulation of non-reducing and total sugars. The starch content was found increased due to application of salicylic acid and H. oryzae inoculation.
