One hundred fifty linseed germplasm accessions were obtained from AICRP on Linseed, Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding IGKV, Raipur (C.G.) during Rabi 2015–16, and characterized for days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height (cm), primary branches per plant, secondary branches per plant, total number of branches per plant, number of capsules per plant, number of seeds per capsule, seed yield per plant (g) and 1000 seed weight (g). On the basis of D² analysis the accessions were grouped into twelve distinct clusters. The maximum intra-cluster distance was obtained for cluster II (8.89) followed by cluster VI (8.70) and cluster IX (8.64). The highest inter cluster D² values were observed between cluster VII and I (10.3) while lowest between cluster IV and I (3.68). The germplasm lines CGLC-7 and CGLC-16 showed superiority for the characters, days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, number of primary branches per plant, number of secondary branches per plant, total number of branches per plant, number of capsules per plant, number of seeds per capsule, 1000 seed weight (g) and seed yield per plant (g). The diversity among the accessions can be utilized for improvement in linseed by crossing best performing diverse lines from different clusters in diallel fashion, followed by selection in segregating generations to get desirable genotypes for cultivation in Chhattisgarh plains.
