Field Plot Technique Studies with Flue-Cured Tobacco. II. Experimental Designs and Replications
1964
Crews, Julian W. | Jones, Guy L. | Mason, D. D.
SynopsisSimple and triple lattice designs were 4 and 5% more efficient than randomized complete block designs at Rocky Mount, and 54 and 60% more efficient at Rural Hall for yield as determined from uniformity data. Precision was increased with a 7 × 7 triple lattice for all characters studied at 6 locations during 3 years. Expected LSD for yield from 4 replications of the optimum (27 plants) and plots 2 rows by 20 plants was 4.9 and 4.4% of the mean, respectively, at Rocky Mount and 7.9 and 7.5% at Rural Hall.
