An experiment entitled “Chemical weed control in sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata)” was conducted during Kharif 2014 at PG, Research Farm, Agronomy Section, College of Agriculture., Dhule. The results revealed that the treatment weed free check significantly enhanced growth and yield attributes i.e. cob andfodder yields over unweeded check followed by the treatment Atrazine fb metsulfuron-methyl (0.75 kg a.i. ha⁻¹(PE) fb 0.004 kg a.i. ha⁻¹(PoE). These treatments also recorded the lower weed population at 30, 45, 60 days after sowing and at harvest, dry weight of weed at harvest with lower weed index and higher weed control efficiency. These treatments were found economical by recording higher net returns and B: C ratio compared to unweeded check.
