Field experiments were conducted for continuous three years during 2012–13 to 2014–13 at Main Agricultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad, Karnataka and at farmers’ field near Krishi Vidnan Kendra, Mattikoppa, Belgaum district, to evaluate the efficiency of pre and post-emergence herbicides and analyse the growth and development of Bt-cotton. The results revealed that the pre-emergence application of diuron (80% WP) at 1.25 kg ha⁻¹ followed bypost-emergence applicationof glyphosate (41% SL) at 2.5 kg ha⁻¹ at 55 DAS recorded the higher plant height, leaf area index, RGR and NAR, total dry matter production, sympodial branches, number of bolls harvested per plant, boll weight and seed cotton yield under rainfed Bt-cotton. Pre-emergence application of diuron (80% WP) at 1.25 kg ha⁻¹ followed by post-emergence application of glufosinate ammonium (15% SL) at 0.375 kg ha⁻¹ at 55 DAS (T₁₁) which remained on par.
