A 7-year-old male castrated domestic rabbit (Oryctolagus cuniculus) was presented with a several day history of anorexia and adypsia. The rabbit was initially diagnosed with severe dental disease and ileus, but when the patient failed to improve and had decreased urinary output, a more thorough workup, including abdominal ultrasonography, was performed. A colocolic intussusception was discovered. Euthanasia was performed, and a necropsy examination confirmed the imaging findings. Histopathology of the affected portions of colon revealed coagulative necrosis, inflammation, and hemorrhage. An underlying cause was not identified.
