The paper analyzes the current state and prospects of craft brewing in the Republic of Serbia. Craft beer is a term used for beer produced in small, independent breweries which focus on quality and innovation. In the Republic of Serbia, there are between 60 and 90 craft breweries. The association of small, independent brewers currently has 35 members (2023). The average production of craft beer is estimated to be between 5 and 6 million liters, which accounts for slightly less than 1% of the total domestic beer production. The export of craft beer amounts to 200 thousand liters, which accounts for approximately 4% of the domestic production. The consumption of craft beer is very low, amounting to less than one liter per capita annually. As craft beer in Serbia is increasing in popularity, it may lead to increased production and further development of craft brewing in the future.
