Effet de la photocatalyse hétérogène sur l’activité antibactérienne de la spiramycine et sur la biomasse bactérienne de <Staphyloccocus xylosus> | Effect of heterogeneous photocatalysis on the antibacterial activity of spiramycin and bacterial biomass of <Staphylococcus xylosus>

De nos jours, l’utilisation immodérée et massive des antibiotiques a conduit à l’accroissement du phénomène de l’antibiorésistance pouvant induire la réapparition des épidémies incurables. Dans ce cadre apparait la photocatalyse hétérogène comme une technologie alternative pour dépolluer les eaux contaminées par de telles molécules. Pour cela on a étudié la dégradation photocatalytique de la spiramycine, antibiotique fréquemment utilisé dans la médecine vétérinaire. Nous avons évalué par la suite son activité antibactérienne au cours de sa photocatalyse qui a révélé une perte de toute activité antibactérienne au bout de 45 minutes vis-à-vis Staphylococcus xylosus. Enfin, nous avons testé l’impact de ce processus sur la biomasse bactérienne du même germe dont la suspension bactérienne a montré une diminution remarquable de son absorption à 600 nm au cours du traitement.

In this context, heterogeneous photocatalysis appears as an alternative technology to clean contaminated water by such molecules. In the present work, we studied the photocatalytic decomposition of spiramycine an antibiotic commonly used in veterinary medicine. We subsequently evaluated its antibacterial activity during its photocatalysis which revealed a loss of antibacterial activity after 45 minutes against Staphylococcus xylosus. Finally, we tested the impact of this process on bacterial biomass of the same germ which the acterial suspension showed a remarkable decrease in its absorption at 600 nm during treatment.
