Stingless bees are the important pollinators for commercial tropical crops and their use may increase in the short term. Nowadays, the food production often involves the application of pesticides and it may harm the beneficial insects that provide service in pollination. The application of pesticides exposed to pollinators during their application, by contact with residues, or from the ingestion of pollen, nectar or guttation fluid containing insecticide. However, the studies in the toxicological effect of insecticides on stingless bee are lacking compare to ordinary honey bee. Thus authors have to gain information of toxicity of commonly use pesticides to T. itama to be used as reference to get better schemes for pesticides applications. Bioassay was conducted on identify the LC5O value of Glyphosate, 2,3-D, Thiomethoxam, Imidaclorpid, Cypermethrin, Chlopyrifos and Profenofos. Four concentrations of each pesticides and control were prepared as treatment with four replications, each replication consisted of 10. The mortality were recorded at 24hr and data were analysed using Probit. The result shown, organophosphates insecticides have the highest toxicity, while herbicides has lowest toxicity. Among the insecticides, cypermethrin insecticides shown the least toxicity.
