Английский. Leafy greens are among the most widely consumed vegetables and are an important part of an overall healthy diet. Currently, the production of salads and fresh herbs in Russia is increasing. This is facilitated by the growing demand for environmentally friendly and organic products for proper and healthy nutrition. The leafy vegetable species cultivated today differ in taste, shape and color of leaves, cultivation requirements, resistance to pests and diseases. From 2016 to 2022, the gross harvest of fresh greens and lettuce in Russia increased by almost 17.5%. Imports of salad vegetables are declining; in 2022 it amounted to 9.88 thousand tons against 12.9 thousand tons in 2021. The leaders in lettuce production in Russia are the Volga, Central and Northwestern Federal Districts, which account for an average of 23% of production in 2021-2023. In the Southern Federal District, up to 15% of all head and semi-head lettuce is grown. According to experts, the growth in the production of leafy vegetables will stimulate the development and modernization of domestic greenhouse complexes due to the large-scale introduction and application of modern agricultural technologies and equipment, improvement of tillage methods and growing conditions. The production of green salad crops in 2022 amounted to 42 thousand tons, more than 75% of which are leafy salads and greens. According to the Federal Customs Service, in January-April 2023, imports of salad vegetables to Russia amounted to 6.7 thousand tons. 4.3 thousand tons were imported during the same period last year. The main suppliers are China, from where 1.2 thousand tons were delivered, Egypt (930 tons) and Turkey (878 tons). Russia also imports salads from Uzbekistan, Belarus and Serbia. Russia's leading breeding institutions are focused on breeding and introducing high-yielding and low-damage varieties into production. If current trends continue, the market for leafy vegetables and seed of such crops is expected to grow. According to forecasts, by 2030, about 70% of the salad consumed by Russians will be of domestic production.

В настоящее время производство салатов и свежей зелени в России увеличивается. Этому способствует растущий спрос на экологически безопасные и органические продукты для правильного и здорового питания. Культивируемые сегодня виды листовых овощей различаются вкусом, формой и окраской листьев, требованиями к выращиванию, устойчивостью к вредителям, болезням. С 2016 по 2022 гг. валовой сбор свежей зелени и салата-латука в России увеличился почти на 17,5%. Импорт салатных овощей сокращается, в 2022 г. он составил 9,88 тыс. т против 12,9 тыс. т в 2021 г. Лидеры по производству салата-латука в России - Приволжский, Центральный и Северно-Западный федеральные округа, на долю которых в среднем за 2021-2023 гг. приходится 23% производства. В Южном федеральном округе выращивают до 15% всего кочанного и полукочанного салата. По прогнозу экспертов, рост производства листовых овощей будет стимулировать развитие и модернизацию отечественных тепличных комплексов за счет широкомасштабного внедрения и применения современных агротехнологий и оборудования, совершенствования способов обработки почвы и условий выращивания. Ведущие селекционные учреждения России сосредоточены на селекции и внедрении в производство высокоурожайных и малоповреждаемых сортов. При сохранении существующих тенденций ожидается рост рынка листовых овощей и их семян. По прогнозам, к 2030 г. около 70% потребляемого россиянами салата будет отечественного производства.
