Better management practices for polyculture of carps with freshwater prawns: Version 2
2024
Panemangalore, A.P. | Rajendran, S.
-Giant freshwater prawns (Macrobrachium rosenbergii), commonly known as “scampi,” are widely distributed in Southeast Asia. In India, they are found in most river systems, including parts of the Brahmaputra River system. They inhabit rivers, canals, estuaries and coastal waters, and they can be cultured in freshwater as well as in slightly brackish water. This guide, provided by WorldFish, is an evolving document and will be updated considering the observations, results and experiences of the past few years of demonstrations of carp–freshwater prawn polyculture under the ongoing APART project.
