The aim of this work was the evaluation of the water storage in Typic Hapludoll (HT) and Entic Hapludoll (HE) and its influence on the production of Populus deltoides Marsh "Harvard" (I-63/51) in Alberti, Province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. In HE observed major content of sand, minor contained of clay and slime that in the HT, which capacity of water storage was superior. The deficit was different en each soils and were more accentuated in HE, where in total period november-dicember-february (spring ends until summers middle), it was 5 mm, being 3 mm for HT. The variables edáficas with relation to the storage of the water sustained the differences of yield I mediate of 8 rodales of of Populus deltoides March cv Harvard (1-63-/51) taken advantage industrially 13 years of age, being for HE and HT of 246,27 and 317, 08 (Mg.ha-1) respectively. The variables edáficas of the site evaluated affected in differential form on the water storage and were determining on the differences between sites.
