Restauração florestal e fitossociologia em áreas de preservação permanente de reflorestamento de Eucalyptus spp. no Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil | Forest restoration and phytosociology in areas of permanent preservation of Eucalyptus spp. reforestation in Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil

O primeiro teve como objetivo conhecer a composição florística de um remanescente florestal relacionando os dados fitossociológicos às características ambientais do entorno. O levantamento foi realizado através do censo da comunidade arbórea com aproximadamente 1 ha, no qual todos os indivíduos com circunferência à altura de 1,30 m do solo (CAP), igual ou superior a 15 cm, foram marcados, mensurados e identificados, sendo os parâmetros fitossociológicos calculados com o Software Fitopac 2. Foi coletada amostra composta de solo (a partir de 10 amostras simples e aleatórias), na profundidade de 0 a 20 cm, no remanescente florestal e em uma área de campo, as quais foram enviadas para análise no Departamento de Solos da Universidade Federal de Viçosa, MG. No total, foram mensurados 499 indivíduos, representados por 18 famílias, 24 gêneros e 23 espécies. Myrtaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lauraceae e Rhamnaceae foram as famílias mais importantes, de acordo com a densidade relativa, sendo Myrtaceae a de maior riqueza e com o maior índice de valor de cobertura, seguida de Rhamnaceae. A porcentagem de espécies e de indivíduos foi superior para zoocoria (69 e 82,6% respectivamente). Do total de indivíduos, 81,4% são de espécies secundárias iniciais e 14% de pioneiras. Scutia buxifolia Reissek, Eugenia uniflora L., Sebastiania commersoniana (Baill.) L.B. Sm. & Downs, Vitex megapotamica (Spreng.) Moldenke e Blepharocalyx salicifolius (Kunth) O.Berg apresentaram os maiores IVC. O índice de Shannon (2,635), demonstra a baixa a diversidade de espécies no fragmento, já o valor de equabilidade (0,783) indicou boa heterogeneidade, sem dominância ecológica de uma ou poucas espécies. As análises de solos sugerem que a fertilidade não seria fator de impedimento ao avanço da floresta sobre a área campestre analisada. A florística do remanescente é semelhante à Floresta Ombrófila Mista, com espécies típicas (Podocarpus lambertii Klotzsch ex Endl. e Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze), que embora não tenham sido amostradas, estavam presentes na floresta como regenerantes. A ocorrência destes remanescentes florestais, seja na forma de fragmentos ou de matas ciliares, justifica a restauração florestal nas áreas de preservação permanente (APP) da região. Os objetivos do segundo capítulo foram obter informações sobre a técnica de resgate de mudas de espécies nativas em sub-bosque de Eucalyptus spp., aumentar a diversidade de espécies no viveiro e suprir a necessidade de mudas nativas para uso nos programas de restauração florestal. Foram percorridos de maneira aleatória, talhões com características propícias à regeneração de plântulas, sendo coletados os indivíduos com altura entre 4 e 40 cm. Foram resgatadas 2.309 mudas de espécies nativas pertencentes a 31 famílias, 52 gêneros e 63 espécies, com taxa geral de sobrevivência de 93,59%. As espécies mais encontradas no resgate foram P. lambertii, A. angustifolia e Zanthoxylum rhoifolium Lam. A síndrome de dispersão zoocórica foi a mais frequente (92,7%) entre os indivíduos, bem como 48,8% do total se enquadraram no grupo ecológico das pioneiras. A proximidade de fontes de propágulos e a presença de dispersores contribuem para a formação de um sub-bosque nativo nos povoamentos comerciais de Eucalyptus spp.. A metodologia de resgate resultou como estratégia importante e complementar às técnicas convencionais de produção de mudas de espécies nativas, resgatando a diversidade vegetal e contribuindo com os programas de restauração florestal da empresa. Por último, no terceiro capítulo objetivou-se testar a proteção de núcleos de mudas, avaliando o desenvolvimento das plantas e o uso de espécies tolerantes em áreas com entrada esporádica de bovinos e equinos, através de dois experimentos. Para o Experimento 1, os tratamentos foram: núcleo livre (T1); núcleo cercado (T2) e cercamento total da área da nascente com núcleos (T3). Após 22 meses constatou-se que, embora a sobrevivência das mudas não ter sido estatisticamente diferente entre os tratamentos, o desenvolvimento tanto em altura quanto em diâmetro torna-se mais eficiente quando as plantas estão protegidas em núcleo cercado. Houve diferença estatística entre os tratamentos no crescimento em altura e diâmetro, com a maior média em T2. Para o Experimento 2, os tratamentos foram: núcleo cercado com arame farpado, com cinco mudas de diferentes espécies (T1), núcleo com quatro mudas de Casearia sylvestris Sw. e uma muda central de outra espécie definida de forma aleatória (T2); núcleo com quatro mudas de Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) Morong e uma muda de outra espécie (T3); núcleo com quatro mudas de Erythroxylum argentinum O.E. Schulz e uma muda central de outra espécie (T4); núcleo com quatro mudas de Sebastiania commersoniana e uma muda central de outra espécie (T5) e núcleo com quatro mudas de Zanthoxylum rhoifolium e uma muda central de outra espécie (T6). Após 22 meses, constatou-se que a média de sobrevivência das mudas foi estatisticamente diferente entre os tratamentos. As plantas de T1 e T3 apresentaram maior média de sobrevivência, diferindo estatisticamente de T2, T4 e T6, porém não diferiram de T5. O cercamento individual do núcleo obteve sucesso sem destruição ou danos nas plantas causados pelo pisoteio, quebra ou herbivoria nos dois experimentos. O uso de espécies tolerantes e o cercamento dos núcleos são maneiras eficazes de nucleação em áreas com entrada esporádica de bovinos e equinos.

The first objective was to assess the floristic composition of a forest fragment relating the phytosociological data to the environmental characteristics of the surroundings. The survey was conducted through the tree community of the census with about 1 ha, in which all individuals with circunference less than 15 cm, at height of 1.30 m above the ground (CAP), were tagged, measured and identified, and the phytosociology calculated using Fitopac 2 Software. The soil sample was collected in depth ranging to 0-20 cm (10 simple random samples) in the remaining forest and in a grassland area, and then sent for analysis in the Soil Department at the Universidade Federal de Viçosa. Thus, 499 individuals were measured, represented by 18 families, 24 genera and 23 species. Myrtaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lauraceae and Rhamnaceae were the most important families founded due to the relative density, and Myrtaceae the greatest wealth and the largest coverage value index, followed by Rhamnaceae. The percentage of species and individuals was higher for zoochory (69 and 82.6% respectively). Of all individuals, 81.4% are initial secondary species and 14% of pioneers. Scutia buxifolia Reissek, Eugenia uniflora L., Sebastiania commersoniana (Baill.) LB Sm. & Downs, Vitex megapotamica (Spreng.) Moldenke and Blepharocalyx salicifolius (Kunth) O.Berg showed the highest IVC. The Shannon index (2,635) demonstrates the low diversity of species in the fragment, and the equability value (0.783) indicated good heterogeneity without ecological dominance of one or a few species. The soil analysis suggest that fertility would not be deterrent factor to the advancement of the forest area on the analyzed grassland area. The flora of the remainder is similar to the Araucaria Forest, with typical species (Podocarpus lambertii Klotzsch ex Endl. and Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol.) Kuntze), which although not sampled were present in the forest as regenerating species. The occurrence of these forest remnants as fragments or riparian forests, explains forest restoration in the areas of permanent preservation in the region. The objectives of the second chapter were obtain information on rescue technique of native species seedlings in the understory of Eucalyptus spp., increase the diversity of species in the nursery and supply restoration programs of native seedlings. Sites with characteristics conducive to the regeneration of seedlings, were covered randomly, being collected individuals with height between 4 and 40 cm. Were rescued 2,309 seedlings of native species belonging to 31 families, 52 genera and 63 species, with overall survival rate of 93.59%. P. lambertii, A. angustifolia and Zanthoxylum rhoifolium Lam. were the mostly found species. The zoochorous dispersion syndrome was the most frequent (92.7%) between individuals, as well as 48.8% of the total are pioneers. The proximity of propagules sources and the presence of dispersers contribute to the formation of a native understory in commercial stands of Eucalyptus spp. The rescue methodology was important and complementary strategy to the conventional production of seedlings of native species techniques, restoring the plant diversity and contributing to the forest restoration programs of the CPMC. Finally, the third chapter aimed to test the protection of nuclei of plants, evaluating the development of the plants and the use of tolerants species in areas with sporadic entry of bovine and equine animals, through two experiments. For Experiment 1, the treatments were: nuclei free (T1); surrounded nuclei (T2) and complete fencing of the spring area with nuclei (T3). After 22 months it was observed that, although seedling survival was not statistically different between treatments, the development both in height and in diameter becomes more efficient when the plants are in protected surrounded nuclei. There were statistically significant differences between treatments in growth in height and diameter, with the highest average in T2. For Experiment 2, the treatments were: nuclei surrounded with barbed wire, with five seedlings of different species (T1); nuclei with four seedlings of Casearia sylvestris Sw. and a central seedling of another specie (T2); nuclei with four Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) Morong seedlings and a seedling of another specie (T3); nuclei with four Erythroxylum argentinum O.E. Schulz seedlings and a central seedling of another specie (T4); nuclei with four seedlings of Sebastiania commersoniana and a central seedling of another specie (T5) and nuclei with four Zanthoxylum rhoifolium seedlings and a central seedling of another specie (T6). After 22 months, the average seedling survival was statistically different between treatments. The plants of T1 and T3 had higher median survival, statistically differing from T2, T4 and T6, but did not differ from T5. The individual surrounded nuclei succeeded without destruction or damage to plants caused by trampling, breakage or herbivory in both experiments. The use of tolerants species and the surrounded nuclei were an effective ways of nucleation areas with occasional entry bovine and equine.
