Análise da paisagem e áreas prioritárias para restauração florestal em uma microbacia da Zona da Mata Mineira | Analysis of the landscape and priority areas for forest restoration in a watershed from the Minas Forest Area

A floresta natural, além da manutenção da biodiversidade, é capaz de retardar o escoamento superficial da água da chuva, atenuando os picos de vazão nos cursos d’água e amenizando as baixas vazões no período de estiagem. A bacia do ribeirão São Bartolomeu, em Viçosa-MG, é de primordial importância para o abastecimento de água do município, além de manter fragmentos florestais importantes para a conservação da biodiversidade. Dessa forma, procurou-se realizar análises da bacia hidrográfica em diferentes perspectivas, sendo composta por três artigos, onde se considera a análise da estrutura da paisagem, do Código Florestal e a definição de áreas prioritárias para restauração florestal. O primeiro artigo objetivou caracterizar a estrutura dos fragmentos florestais remanescentes na paisagem e avaliar a sua representatividade quanto aos aspectos da compartimentação geomorfológica, das faces de orientação e das classes de solos. A floresta natural, comparando-se aos demais usos do solo, possui elevado tamanho médio e número de fragmentos, resultando assim em grande ocupação na bacia estudada. A ocupação florestal na paisagem é não aleatória, sendo dependentes de características fisiográficas e pedológicas da paisagem. O segundo artigo teve como objetivo analisar as áreas legalmente protegidas e os conflitos de uso existentes na bacia de captação. As delimitações das áreas protegidas e as análises de sobreposição de uso foram realizadas por meio do uso de técnicas de geoprocessamento. Os resultados demonstraram que a pastagem é o principal conflito de uso existente nas APPs e AURs. A área protegida por AURs foi superior à soma de todas as categorias de APP, revelando que esta categoria possui grande potencial para conservação dos fragmentos florestais. Já o total de área destinada à RL reduziu em 5,2% a sua ocorrência na bacia ao se considerar as áreas consolidadas. As propriedades com dimensão inferior a um módulo fiscal apresentaram as maiores proporções de conflitos de uso do solo nas APPs e AURs, apesar de possuírem a maior quantidade absoluta de áreas com cobertura florestal. No terceiro artigo, objetivou-se identificar as áreas prioritárias para restauração florestal na bacia de captação do ribeirão São Bartolomeu, visando primordialmente à conservação dos recursos hídricos e da biodiversidade. Foram analisados cenários com diferentes graus de risco, através da Média Ponderada Ordenada (MPO), considerando os critérios avaliados como os mais importantes para a definição dessas áreas prioritárias. Foram utilizadas duas metodologias pra determinar as áreas prioritárias nos mapas finais, denominadas como análise com intervalos iguais (tradicional) e análise gráfica do histograma acumulado. Comparando os cenários melhores avaliados de cada método, nota-se uma consideração mais eficiente das classes prioritárias dos fatores no método do histograma acumulado. A definição do mapa de prioridade a ser executada na restauração deve ser realizada a partir da consideração da disponibilidade financeira e da viabilidade operacional do projeto. Espera-se que este estudo possa ser levado em consideração por estudos acadêmicos subsequentes e pelos órgãos públicos que visem à ordenação do uso e ocupação na bacia do ribeirão São Bartolomeu.

The natural forest, besides maintaining the biodiversity, is able to delay the superficial runoff of rainwater, attenuating the peak flows in the waterways and softening the low runoffs in the period of drought. The basin of the São Bartolomeu brook, in Viçosa-MG, is extremely important for the city's water supply, in addition to keeping important forest fragments for the conservation of the biodiversity. Therefore, we sought to analyze the hydrographic basin in different perspectives, being composed of three chapters, where we consider the analysis of the landscape structure, the Forest Code and the definition of the priority areas for forest restoration. The first chapter aimed at characterizing the remaining forest fragments in the landscape and at evaluating its representativeness regarding the aspects of the geomorphological subdivision, orientation surfaces and soil classes. The natural forest, comparing to the other soil uses, has an elevated average size and number of fragments, resulting in a great occupation of the basin studied. The landscape forest occupation is not random, they depend on the physiographic and pedological characteristics of the landscape. The second chapter aimed at analyzing the legally protected areas and the conflicts of use that exist in the catchment basin. The delimitations of the protected areas and the analysis of use overlay were carried out by the use of geoprocessing techniques. The results showed that the pasture is the main use conflict in the APPs and AURs. The area protected by AURs was superior to the sum of all the APP categories revealing that this category has great potential for the conservation of the forest fragments. The total area reserved for RL reduced in 5.2% in the basin when considering the consolidated areas. The properties with dimension inferior to a fiscal module presented higher proportions of soil use conflicts in the APPs and AURs, although they have a higher absolute amount of areas with forest coverage. The third chapter aimed at identifying the priority areas for forest restoration in the catchment basin of the São Bartolomeu brook, aiming primarily at the conservation of water resources and biodiversity. The analysis was done on scenarios with different risk degrees, through the Ordered Weighted Average (OWA), considering the criteria evaluated as the most important for the definition of these priority areas. Two methodologies were used to determine the priority areas in the final maps, called analysis with equal intervals (traditional) and graphic analysis of the cumulative histogram. Comparing the best evaluated scenarios of each method, you can see a more efficient consideration of the priority classes of the factors in the cumulative histogram method. The definition of the priority map to be executed in the restoration must be done through the consideration of financial availability and operational viability of the project. This study is expected to be taken into consideration by academic studies and by the public bodies that aim at ordering the use and occupation of the São Bartolomeu brook basin.
