Prevalencia de Toxocara canis en perros menores de 6 semanas de edad y su relación con sus madres en el distrito de Víctor Larco - Trujillo

El objetivo de este trabajo es conocer la Prevalencia de Toxocara canis en perros menores de 6 semanas de edad y su relación con sus madres en el distrito de Victor Larco-Trujillo; para lo cual, se captaron 241 cachorros, de los cuales se obtuvo muestras fecales; una vez tomadas las muestras fueron procesadas por los métodos directo y de flotación por solución salina saturada, considerando muestras positivas a aquellas con presencia de al menos 1 huevo por campo microscópico. Se encontró que el 58.92% de las muestras fueron positivas a Toxocara canis; de las cuales el 62.67% de muestras positivas, fueron de cachorros que se encontraban en el rango de edad de hasta 4 semanas, sin encontrar diferencias mascadas por sexo; con respecto a la raza se encontró que el 47.89% de las muestras positivas fueron de animales mestizos; en lo que respecta a la relación entre la madre y la presencia de Toxocara canis en la camada, se obtuvo que el 53.33% de la madres tuvieron una relación positiva a Toxocariasis en su camada, a pesar de que la madre había sido desparasitada.

The objective of this work is to know the prevalence of Toxocara canis in dogs under 6 weeks of age and their relationship with their mothers in the district of Victor Larco-Trujillo; for which, 241 puppies were collected, from which fecal samples were obtained; Once the samples were taken, they were processed by the direct and flotation methods by saturated saline, considering positive samples to those with the presence of at least 1 egg per microscopic field.
