Avaliações do modo de reprodução e do potencial produtivo de progênies híbridas de Paspalum notatum | Evaluation of the mode of reproduction and productive potential of Paspalum notatum hybrid progenies

No Rio grande do Sul, grande parte da atividade pecuária é desenvolvida a pasto. Assim como nas diversas regiões brasileiras, estas pastagens são compostas de diferentes espécies nativas. Com o avanço das tecnologias disponíveis no mercado e com o crescente estudo na parte nutricional das espécies forrageiras, tem-se buscado cada vez melhores resultados de eficiência produtiva (ganho animal por área, maiores produções de leite e carne). Através de estudos realizados com profissionais qualificados, é possível selecionar forrageiras que possibilitem maior rentabilidade de leite e carne por hectare. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o modo de reprodução e o potencial produtivo de híbridos intraespecíficos de progênies segregantes de Paspalum notatum a partir de análises agronômicas em condições de casa de vegetação. Também foi possível realizar um novo ciclo de cruzamentos intraespecíficos com genótipos híbridos previamente selecionados. As análises estatísticas foram feitas pelo teste de médias das variáveis analisadas, comparadas pelo teste Scott-Knott e Dunnett a 5% de significância. A correlação de Pearson foi utilizada para avaliação dos caracteres agronômicos. Foram avaliados 46 genótipos e seus genitores. Os genótipos analisados tiveram grande variabilidade em todas as características agronômicas mensuradas. As plantas que obtiveram maior produção de massa seca total foram DPFA17PN10P3, DPFA17PN28P4, DPFA17PN29P1, DPFA17PN16P3 e DPFA17PN10P5. Das plantas que tiveram o modo de reprodução determinado, 26 plantas apresentaram modo de reprodução sexual e 11 apresentaram modo de reprodução apomítico. A determinação do modo de reprodução dos híbridos e as avaliações das características agronômicas permitiram identificar materiais genéticos promissores para produção de forragem, selecionando-os para etapas adicionais no programa de melhoramento, podendo, àquelas apomíticas, serem candidatas a novas cultivares e/ou utilizadas para novos cruzamentos, juntamente com as de reprodução sexual.

In Rio Grande do Sul, much of the livestock activity is developed on pasture. As in the various Brazilian regions, these pastures are composed of different native species. With the advance of the technologies available in the market and with the growing study in the nutritional part of forage species, there has been increasing and better results of productive efficiency (animal gain). Through qualified professionals, it is possible to select forages that allow greater profitability of milk and meat per hectare. The present work aimed to evaluate the mode of reproduction and productive potential of intraspecific hybrids of segregating progenies of Paspalum notatum from agronomic analyses under greenhouse conditions. It was also possible to perform a new cycle of intraspecific crosses with previously selected hybrid genotypes. The statistical analyses were made by the test of means of the variables analyzed, compared by the Scott-Knott and Dunnett tests at 5% significance. Pearson's correlation was used to know whether or not there was a correlation between the agronomic characters analyzed. Forty-six genotypes and their parents were evaluated. The genotypes analyzed had great variability in all agronomic characteristics measured. The plants with the highest total dry mass production were DPFA17PN10P3, DPFA17PN28P4, DPFA17PN29P1, DPFA17PN16P3 and DPFA17PN10P5. Of the plants that had the reproduction mode determined, 26 plants presented sexual reproduction mode and 11 presented apomitic reproduction mode. The determination of the mode of reproduction of hybrids and the evaluations of agronomic characteristics allowed the identification of promising genetic materials for forage production, selecting them for additional stages in the breeding program, and may, to those apomitic, be candidates for new cultivars and/or used for new crosses, together with those of sexual reproduction.
