Disinfection of animal facility and animal hospital by ozone water is considered to be useful method, therefore sterilized and virucidal effect of ozone water was evaluated. Ozone water produced by the bubbling micro ozone gas mixture ozone water generator was used for disinfection effect evaluation against infectious bovine rhinotrachitis virus (IBRV: enveloped virus), bovine enterovirus (BEV: non enveloped virus), Listeria monocytogenes (gram positive bacteria) and spore (Bacillus subtilis) (strong resistant against disinfectants). Two hundred mL of ozone water and 1 mL of viral or bacterial material reacted at 1 min and immediately 10 fold diluted, and inoculated to the PFU/0.1 mL or CFU/0.1 mL examination. One ppm ozone water killed completely against IBRV and BEV at 10degC, 20degC, and 35degC. Five ppm ozone water could not kill well against a spore at 10degC, however 3 ppm ozone water reacted well and 4 ppm one killed completely against a spore at 35degC. One ppm ozone water reacted well against Listeria monocytogenes at 10degC, 20degC, and 35degC, and its higher reaction was observed in the higher temperature. From these results, it was not necessary to prepare the high concentration (ppm) of ozone water used for disinfection against virus, bacteria and spore, and low ppm ozone water was considered to be so effective and useful against these pathogens.
