Valoración económica del agua de uso agrario para el sector hidráulico de Cañete

Entre los principales servicios que nos brindan los ecosistemas está el agua como recurso hídrico siendo necesario tomar conciencia que la destrucción de los bosques y pérdida de glaciares frente al crecimiento poblacional y migración de las ciudades y la agricultura, están reduciendo las reservas de agua en el mundo. Esta Tesis se enmarca en el ámbito de la Cuenca Hidrográfica del río Cañete, cuyas aguas tienen un uso multisectorial siendo la de mayor demanda la del uso agrario. Y en el entendido de valorar económicamente el agua para este uso, se investiga la Disposición a Pagar de los agricultores de la parte baja de la Cuenca. Se utilizó la metodología de valoración contingente. Específicamente se analiza, el aporte monetario en forma voluntaria, por parte de los usuarios de riego en la parte baja del río Cañete, como principales consumidores y beneficiarios del recurso hídrico, para el cuidado del ecosistema en la cuenca alta del río. Se determinó que el 52% de la población tiene una Disposición a Pagar promedio de S/ 24.59 soles por hectárea al año, este monto es adicional al que vienen pagando y se utilizará como parte de implementar un Pago por Servicios Ambientales Hidrológicos.

Among the main services we obtain from ecosystems, we have water as an hydric resource. For that reason, it is necessary to be aware that the destruction of forests and loss of glaciers against population growth and migration from cities and agriculture are reducing water reserves in the world. This thesis is framed in the field of Cañete River Basin, whose waters have a multi-sectoral use being their agricultural use of greater demand. In order to understand the economic value of water for this use, the disposition to pay of farmers from the lower part of the Basin is investigated. The contingent valuation methodology was used. The voluntary monetary contribution by users of irrigation in the bottom part of the Cañete river is analyzed, as major consumers and beneficiaries of water resources for the care of the ecosystem in the upper basin of the river. It was determined that 52% of the population has the wish to pay an average of S / 24.59 soles per hectare per year. This amount is additional to the one they are paying currently and it will be used as part of implementing a Payment for Hydrological Environmental Services
