Definición de línea base para un informe de sostenibilidad certificable bajo el estándar Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) en la empresa Derivados Lácteos EL Pino S.A.S., municipio de Donmatías, Antioquia. Trabajo de grado

RESUMEN : El desarrollo sostenible como lo define la Comisión Mundial sobre el Medio Ambiente y el Desarrollo en 1987 tiene como objetivo “Satisfacer las necesidades del presente sin comprometer la capacidad de las generaciones futuras para satisfacer sus propias necesidades”, función donde las empresas cumplen un papel determinante, y, la empresa Derivados Lácteos El Pino, dedicada a la transformación y comercialización de productos lácteos en el municipio de Donmatías, no es ajena esta situación, por lo que en los últimos años se ha venido implementando estrategias de sostenibilidad en materia social, económica y ambiental. Sin embargo, no se ha logrado establecer un mecanismo estandarizado de divulgación de estas acciones de gestión ambiental que le permita seguir ascendiendo en este proceso, y es por ello que a partir de este proyecto de práctica, se estableció una línea base para un informe de sostenibilidad certificable bajo el estándar GRI, el cual a través de los criterios de transparencia, información cuantificada y trazabilidad de aspectos ambiental demostró ser superior a los informes anteriores en aproximadamente un 248% en promedio, además de extender la cuantificación y cualificación de aspectos ambientales entre los que se destacaron la generación de residuos, gestión del recurso hídrico, gestión energética y emisiones atmosféricas, lo que finalmente determinó y evidenció que la utilización del estándar GRI y sus variables de interés respecto a lo que anteriormente estaba elaborado para la empresa y demás metodologías de estandarización en general, fue más efectivo, dejando como precedente un insumo que se espera seguir implementando en la empresa.

ABSTRACT : Sustainable development as defined by the World Commission on Environment and Development in 1987 looks for "meet the needs of the present without compromising the capacity of future generations to meet their own needs," a function where companies play a decisive role, and the company Derivados Lácteos El Pino, dedicated to the processing and marketing of dairy products in the municipality of Donmatías, is implied into this situation, so, in recent years, Lacteos El Pino has been implemented sustainability strategies in social, economic and environmental matters. However, it has not been able to find a standardized mechanism for the dissemination of these environmental management actions that allows it to continue promoting and improving its process, and that is the reason that the sustainability report under the GRI standards was created, which through the criteria of transparency, quantified information and environmental index criteria and this report shows that is better than the previous reports around 248%, in addition to extending the quantification and qualification of environmental aspects among which the generation of waste, water resource management, energy management and atmospheric emissions, which finally determined and evidenced that the use of the GRI standard and its variables of interest related to previously reports of the company and other standardization methodologies in general, it was more effective, leaving as a precedent this useful tool document that is expected to continue implementing in the company.
