The revitalization of rural areas represents a very important segment of the overall development at the national level and should be based on knowledge and new technologies. The paper aims to analyze the significance of the ap plication of the “smart village” concept in rural areas, which would contrib ute to the formation of new use values and the solution of current problems related to economic and cultural backwardness, depopulation, migration to urban areas, departure of young people abroad, abandonment of engaged in agricultural production, lack of application of modern technological solu tions and insufficiently educated staff in providing services in rural areas.
