An extended account of the work of the team in regard to the agricultural scene and perspectives in the subregion has been incorporated into a recent report by the ECA/FAO Joint Agriculture Division, entitled Phase I: East Africa: Intra-regional Co-operation and Trade in the Field of Agriculture. That 252-page report includes a full discussion of the subregion’ s present agricultural situation and its prospects for production and trade in the 1970s. It should, therefore, serve as a companion volume to the present report so that the basic information contained therein need not be repeated here. The present report concentrates on the consideration of programmes of sub regional co-operation.
