Efecto del paclobutrazol sobre el crecimiento de la quinua (chenopodium quinoa willd.), en las condiciones agroecológicas de la estación experimental argelia, Loja.

Quinoa (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.), is the cereal with the highest nutritional value, with a considerable amount of protein, native to the Andean region of South American countries. Lately there has been a preference for its consumption due to the nutrients that the human body requires for a healthy state. Cereal cultivation has been affected by climatic changes in recent times, seasonal variations, rainfall, strong air currents that cause lodging in the crop. That is why alternatives are sought to obtain plants more resistant to this phenomenon, using paclobutrazol, a triazole that inhibits vegetative growth because it interferes by blocking the synthesis of gibberellins. The current research evaluated the effect of paclobutrazol on the growth of quinoa, in the agroecological conditions of the “La Argelia” experimental station at the “Universidad Nacional de Loja”, doses of 200, 400 and 600 ppm were applied in two phenological stages of the crop: beginning of lateral shoots (BBCH 20) and inflorescence emergence (BBCH 50), the response of the crop was evaluated during the vegetative phase, paclobutrazol reduced growth in the doses of 400 and 600 ppm in the BBCH20 stage, from day one to day 36 of evaluation T3: 21,63 cm and T4: 14,82 cm had lower growth than the control that reached 34,35 cm, paclobutrazol also increased the chlorophyll content in the leaves, with dosages of 400 and 600 ppm being the higher, paclobutrazol produced smaller, more robust plants and with an intense green color in the leaves, unlike the untreated ones. La quinua (Chenopodium quinoa Willd.), es el cereal con mayor valor nutricional, con una cantidad considerable de proteína, originaria de la región andina de los países sudamericanos. Últimamente se ha visto una preferencia por su consumo por los nutrientes que requiere el cuerpo humano para un estado saludable. El cultivo del cereal se ha visto afectado por cambios climáticos en los últimos tiempos, las variaciones en la estacionalidad, precipitaciones, fuertes corrientes de aire que ocasionan el encamado en el cultivo. Es por esto que se buscan alternativas para obtener plantas más resistentes a este fenómeno, utilizando paclobutrazol, un triazol que inhibe el crecimiento vegetativo debido a que interfiere bloqueando la síntesis de giberelinas. La presente investigación evaluó el efecto del paclobutrazol sobre el crecimiento de la quinua, en las condiciones agroecológicas de la estación experimental La Argelia en la Universidad Nacional de Loja, se aplicaron dosis de 200, 400 y 600 ppm en dos estadios fenológicos del cultivo: inicio de brotes laterales (BBCH 20) y emergencia de la inflorescencia (BBCH 50), se evaluó la respuesta del cultivo durante la fase vegetativa, el paclobutrazol redujo el crecimiento en las dosis de 400 y 600 ppm en el estadio BBCH20, desde el día uno al 36 de evaluación T3: 21,63 cm y T4: 14,82 cm tuvieron menor crecimiento que el control que alcanzó 34,35 cm, el paclobutrazol también aumentó el contenido de clorofila en las hojas, siendo las dosificaciones 400 y 600 ppm las más elevadas, el paclobutrazol produjo plantas con menor tamaño, más robustas y con un color verde intenso en las hojas, a diferencia de las no tratadas.
