Английский. This study is interested in diversity of exploitations distributed within a heterogeneous territory. Located in the south-eastern plain of Niort, this territory of 42 000 ha concentrates many stakes. The evolutions of the concerns of agriculture as well as the context social, economic and climatic make a territory in full change of it. First of all, the general characteristics of the medium make of it a territory of interface of landscape entities varied byan important diversity of the potentials of grounds, the presence of remarkable sites such as the marais poitevin, the forest of Chizé, etc. Moreover, the territory undergoes full whip the years of recent drynesses and one notes evolutions in operations of the exploitations. These evolutions are all the more important as the socio-economic context varies too. The successive reforms of the common agricultural policy, the taking into account of the multifonctionnality of agriculture, the settings to the standards are as many factors of change of the exploitations. Two systems dominate: the system mixed-farming and the system mixedfarming-breeding.This study lies within the general scope of the Praiterre program "Meadows TerritoryResources and Environment" controlled by the National Institute of the Agronomic research.From one 3 years duration, this one aims at determining the place and the role of the meadows in the agri-environmental and ecological management of a territory of mixed-farming breeding. The objective of this study is to characterize the zone of study by various systems of productions present, to analyze the place and the role of the meadows in each one of these systems and to distribute them within the territory in order to study the influence of the medium on those.This study is based on a certain number of studies carried out with the precondition on the studied zone showing that the meadows are generally associated an animal workshop on the exploitation. Out, always on the basis of study preceding, these exploitations decrease and specialize in field crops. We thus characterized the zone of study by trapping the diversity of the exploitations present by the realization of a typology on the basis of investigation near owners of the zone of study. A pre-typology having been established in 2006, we supplement it and let us specify it. The surveyed sample was selected in order to fill missing types and we bring a new stability to this typology by giving precise details on the character structural or ofthe economic situation of the criteria established in this pre-typology. Thus, the dairy bovine exploitations of the zone of study are marked by the drynesses. The potential of grounds of the exploitation, and thus the possibility of cultivating corn without irrigation are the principalfactor of evolution and localization of these exploitations. At the caprine exploitations, the evolution is extremely strong. The raising of prices of cereals generates an increase in cereal surfaces to the detriment of surfaces in meadows. The exploitations are directed worms of except ground more and more. At the cereal ones, the problems of water strongly made regress surfaces out of corn, strongly petitioning out of water. The exploitations are at the present time seeking solutions to face the drynesses and especially with the water restrictionsinduced by the dryness for the irrigants. The nursing bovine systems are most stable.Hydromorphic the significant ground part put in meadows that the bovines graze explainswhy these exploitations were not affected too much by the recent drynesses.This study highlighted various operations of exploitations found in the territory by specifying the place and the role of grass surfaces and crossed these objectives with the distribution within the territory of these exploitations in order to determine which types of exploitations are in phase with the durable development of the territory.

Французский. Cette étude s’intéresse à la diversité des exploitations réparties au sein d’un territoire hétérogène. Situé dans la plaine sud-est de Niort, ce territoire de 42 000 ha concentre de nombreux enjeux. Les évolutions des préoccupations de l’agriculture ainsi que le contexte social, économique et climatique global en font un territoire en pleine mutation. Tout d’abord, les caractéristiques générales du milieu en font un territoire d’interface d’entités paysagères variées par une diversité importantes des potentiels de sols, la présence de sites remarquables tels que le marais poitevin, la forêt de Chizé, etc. De plus, le territoire subit de plein fouet les années de sécheresses récentes et l’on constate des évolutions dans les fonctionnements des exploitations. Ces évolutions sont d’autant plus importantes que le contexte socio-économique varie aussi. Les réformes successives de la politique agricole commune, la prise en compte de la multifonctionnalité de l’agriculture, les mises aux normes sont autant de facteurs de mutation des exploitations. Deux systèmes dominent : le système polyculture et le système polyculture-élevage. Cette étude s’inscrit dans le cadre général du programme Praiterre « PRAIries TERritoireRessources et Environnement » piloté par l’Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique. D’une durée de 3 ans, celui-ci vise à déterminer la place et le rôle des prairies dans la gestion agri-environnementale et écologique d’un territoire de polyculture élevage. L’objectif de cette étude est de caractériser la zone d’étude par des différents systèmes de productions présents,d’analyser la place et le rôle des prairies dans chacun de ces systèmes et de les répartir au sein du territoire afin d’étudier l’influence du milieu sur ceux-ci. Cette étude se base sur un certain nombre d’études réalisées au préalable sur la zone étudiée démontrant que les prairies sont généralement associées à un atelier animal sur l’exploitation. Hors, toujours sur la base des précédentes études, ces exploitations diminuent et se spécialisent en grandes cultures. Nous avons donc caractérisé la zone d’étude en piégeant la diversité des exploitations présentes par la réalisation d’une typologie sur la base d’enquêtes auprès d’exploitants de la zone d’étude. Une pré-typologie ayant été établie en 2006, nous la complétons et la précisons. L’échantillon enquêté a été choisi afin de combler des types manquants et nous apportons une nouvelle stabilité à cette typologie en donnant des précisions sur le caractère structurel ou conjoncturel des critères établis dans cette prétypologie. Ainsi, les exploitations bovines laitières de la zone d’étude sont marquées par les sécheresses. Le potentiel de sols de l’exploitation, et donc la possibilité de cultiver du maïs sans irrigation est le principal facteur d’évolution et de localisation de ces exploitations. Chez les exploitations caprines, l’évolution est extrêmement forte. L’augmentation du prix des céréales engendre une augmentation des surfaces en céréales au détriment des surfaces en prairies. Les exploitations s’orientent de plus en plus vers du hors sol. Chez les céréaliers, la problématique de l’eau a fait fortement régresser les surfaces en maïs, fortement demandeur en eau. Les exploitations sont à l’heure actuelle en train de chercher des solutions pour faire face aux sécheresses et surtout aux restrictions d’eau induits par la sécheresse pour les irrigants. Les systèmes bovins allaitants sont les plus stables. La part importante de terres hydromorphes mises en prairies que les bovins pâturent explique que ces exploitations n’aient pas été trop affectées par les récentes sécheresses. Cette étude a mis en évidence les différents fonctionnements d’exploitations retrouvé dans le territoire en précisant la place et le rôle des surfaces en herbe et a croisé ces objectifs à la répartition au sein du territoire de ces exploitations afin de déterminer quels types d’exploitations sont en phase avec le développement durable du territoire.
