Bird Species and Red List Category in Important Wetlands of Burdur Province

Turkey is veryrich in ecosystem and species diversity, as it is located at the intersections of three continents and three phyto geographic regions, under the influence of different climate types, and on key bird migration routes. It is home to the shelter, feding and breeding of birds, especially in the wetlands it has. The study was conducted between July 2021 and April 2022 to determine the Ornito fauna of Lake Burdur, Lake Karataş, Lake Salda, Lake Yarışlı and Lake Gölhisar in Burdur province. Species were determined by the Line transect and Point counts method in seasonal periods. The surface area, width and length values of the lakes was calculated from Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI) images produced using Landsat 8 OLI/TIRS C1 Level-1 images of the lakes in 2021.A total of 105 species of 17 order sand 39 families were identified in the researchareas. One of these species, Numenius arquata, Lanius senator, Vanellus vanellus was found in the NT (Near threatened) category according to the IUCN criteria, in the Aythya ferina and Streptopelia turtur VU (vulnurable), and 100 species were found in the LC (Least Concern) category.
