Water is essential to everyday life and development and without water survival and sustainability would be difficult. Thus, efforts have been put in by governments, organizations, and individuals to sustain and enhance the quality of life and development. One example is the production of bottled and sachet-packaged drinking water to ensure the availability of clean drinking water. This study was conducted to understand the increased demand for bottled and sachet-packaged drinking water. A total of 245 households were interviewed in seven regions of Ghana through semi structured questionnaire. The findings highlight the importance of access to quality drinking water and the role of different water sources in meeting this need. The results indicated that clean and safe drinking water is essential and there is the perception that access to clean and safe drinking water can be achieved through bottled and sachet water, thus the demand for water in this form is in high demand. However, there is an environmental twist to that which either way affects drinking ware directly or indirectly. Also, suggestions have been made to help the purification of piped water and educate consumers on water quality standards to promote its use as a drinking water source. This approach can help improve access to safe drinking water for a larger population and reduce reliance on bottled and sachet-packaged water, which can have environmental implication implications due to plastic waste. Overall, the efforts to enhance the quality and availability of drinking water, whether through bottled water production, sachet-packaged water, or improved piped water systems, are essential for sustainable development and public health.
