Consórcio sorgo-soja. Efeito de épocas de semeadura do sorgo, cultivares de soja e de sistemas de cortes na produção de forragem das culturas consorciadas na entrelinha e em monocultivo | Sorgum-soybean intercropping. Effect of sowing dates of sorghum, soybean cultivars and cutting systems in the production of forage of the intercropped crops between rows and as a monoculture

With the objective of evaluate the effects of the sowing dates of sorghum, the cutting systems and different soybean cultivars planted in between rows of sorghum, in the yield and forage quality, two experiments were conducted in the agricultural years of 2006/07 and 2007/08, on the campus of UFLA in a Typic Distroferric latosol. The experimental design for the consortium was a randomized 5x3x3 factorial scheme with three repetitions consisting of five sowing dates of a hybrid forage sorghum, Volumax (Oct/30, Nov/15 and 30 and Dec/15 and 30); and three Soybeans cultivars, Monsoy 8400 (medium cycle), Conquista (medium late cycle) and Luziânia (long cycle), and three cutting systems. In the first system, the sorghum and soybeans plants were cut twice; the first cut was made near the soil surface and the second after the resprouting of plants, also close to the ground level, both at the starch stage of the sorghum grain. In the second and third system, the plants were also cut off twice, being realized the first cutting at a height of 15 cm and 30 cm from the ground level of the plants, respectively, and the second cut after the resprouting of the sorghum, at ground level, both at the starch stage of the sorghum grain. The cropping system employed was the intercropping of soybean in between the rows of sorghum. In addition were conducted two other contiguous experiments, with a randomized block´s design with three repetitions, one for the monoculture of soy 5 x 3 (five sowing dates and 3 soybean cultivars) and the sorghum also sown in the same five periods of the intercropping. For the intercropping, the seeding dates altered the fresh matter, dry matter, and crude protein yield and also mineral composition (P, K, Ca, Mg and S) with diminishing returns as the sowing was done on later periods. The soybean cultivars did not provide a reduction in forage yield of sorghum and increased the yield of protein and nutrients accumulation. The use of the cutting system at ground level was the largest contributor to the increased forage. The intercropping system provided increases in fresh matter, dry matter, and crude protein yields and accumulation of minerals, when compared to the monoculture of sorghum.

Produção Vegetal

Com o objetivo de avaliar época de semeadura do sorgo, sistemas de corte e diferentes cultivares de soja semeada nas entrelinhas do sorgo, no rendimento e na qualidade de forragem, foram conduzidos dois experimentos, nos anos agrícolas 2006/07 e 2007/08, no campus da UFLA, em Latossolo Distroférrico típico. O delineamento experimental utilizado para o consórcio foi o de blocos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 5x3x3, com três repetições, compreendendo cinco épocas de semeadura do sorgo forrageiro híbrido Volumax (30/out, 15 e 30/nov e 15 e 30/dez); três cultivares de soja, Monsoy 8400 (ciclo médio), Conquista (ciclo semitardio) e Luziânia (ciclo tardio) e três sistemas de corte. No primeiro sistema, as plantas de sorgo e soja foram cortadas duas vezes, sendo o primeiro corte realizado rente ao solo e o segundo, após a rebrota das plantas, também rente ao solo, ambos no estádio de grãos farináceos do sorgo. No segundo e terceiro sistema, as plantas também foram cortadas duas vezes, sendo o primeiro corte realizado à altura de 15 cm e 30 cm do colo das plantas, respectivamente, e o segundo corte, após a rebrota do sorgo, rente ao solo, ambos no estádio de grãos farináceos do sorgo. O sistema de cultivo empregado foi o consórcio da soja na entrelinha do sorgo. Adicionalmente, foram conduzidos dois outros ensaios contíguos, em blocos casualizados, com três repetições, um para o monocultivo da soja 5 x 3 (cinco épocas de semeadura e 3 cultivares de soja) e sorgo também semeado nas mesmas cinco épocas do consórcio. Para o consórcio, as épocas de semeadura alteraram os rendimentos de massa verde, matéria seca, proteína bruta e composição mineral (P, K, Ca, Mg e S) com rendimentos decrescentes à medida que se atrasava a semeadura. As cultivares de soja não proporcionaram redução no rendimento de forragem do sorgo e aumentaram o rendimento de proteína e acúmulo de nutrientes. A utilização do sistema de corte rente ao solo foi a que mais contribuiu para aumento da forragem. O sistema consorciado proporcionou incrementos no rendimento de massa verde, matéria seca, proteína bruta e acúmulo dos minerais, quando comparado ao monocultivo de sorgo.
