Modeling multi-duct silencers for gasguides of energy equipment

Non-absorbent silencers offer distinct advantages for gas conduits in energy generation equipment. The reflective slit-type silencers proposed demonstrate universal applicability for gas ducts exceeding 500 mm in cross-sectional dimension. Current design methodologies for multi-slit configurations remain incomplete due to insufficient consideration of the relationship between multi-duct geometry and acoustic performance. Recommendations for designing the multi-slit constructions are not fully formed because they are not taken into account the relationship between the multi-duct scheme of the device and its acoustic efficiency. The purpose of this work is to identify the features of the multi-slit design acoustic characteristics. The multi-slit construction model was developed by methods of electroacoustic analogy and realized by Simulink. The acoustic characteristics of the slit devices were calculated: ducts and multi-duct constructions with sheets curved in steps; ducts and multi-duct slit construction with sheets curved in right angularly. It was determined that the acoustic efficiency of slit construction with sheets curved in steps is predestined only by acoustic efficiency of different ducts conjunction. It was demonstrated that the acoustic efficiency of slit construction with sheets curved in right angularly is formed from acoustic efficiency of all turnings, both undivided and composed. The new data obtained supplement the views about noise reduction in large cross-section gasguides and therefore allow supplementing the recommendations for the synthesis of the slit reflective silencers.
