Abstract In modern large cities, significant harm to human health can be caused by air pollution from fungi. The study examined the degree of biological air pollution in urban environments during 2023-2024 (city of Moscow). Air samples were taken using an aspirator device with the cultivation of fungal colonies on a nutrient medium of two varieties – Chapek medium and PGA medium to establish the concentration of fungal spores in air samples. It was found that the use of the PGA medium is also acceptable for the analysis of air aerosol contamination with fungal spores on a par with the more common Chapek medium. Air samples were taken in the conditions of Moscow streets at various heights, a residential apartment, an office space, a park area (at various heights), an orchard (Moscow city territory) and in the conditions of a large heated greenhouse. The study reflects seasonal changes in total air pollution by fungi with comparison in the form of graphs reflecting the concentration of fungal spores depending on the conditions of air sampling and sampling time. The study describes the composition of fungal spores found in the air of open areas of the city and in rooms for various purposes.
