Purpose. This study was aimed to determine some biochemical parameters and productivity of the gene fund of Silphium L. genus in the M. M. Gryshko National Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine.Methods. Plant raw material investigated at the flowering stage (17 genotypes) and the end of vegetation (20 genotypes) of Silphium spp. 3 species and 4 cultivars studied for the content of nutrients at the flowering. Determination of dry matter, ash, calcium, nitrogenfree extractives conducted according to Hrytsaienko et al. (2003), phosphorus, protein – according to Pochinok (1976), sugars – according to Krishchenko (1983), cellulose – according to Zheng et al. (2018), lipids – according to Zamowski, Suzuki (2004). It was used productivity parameters: yield of above-ground mass, the yield of dry mass, energetic value, yield of energy. Data analyzed statistically.Results. Plant raw material of genotypes of Silphium L. spp. is a valuable source of nutrients. The content of ash, its components, energetic value, and parameters of productivity depending on genotype and stage of growth. Це дослідження мало на меті визначити деякі біохімічні параметри та продуктивність генофонду рослин роду Silphium L. у Національному ботанічному саду імені M. M. Гришка НАН України.Методи. Рослинна сировина Silphium досліджена у фазі квітування (17 генотипів) та в кінці вегетації (20 генотипів). Уміст поживних речовин під час квітування вивчено у 3 видів та 4 сортів рослин. Визначення вмісту сухої речовини, золи, кальцію, безазотистих екстрактивних речовин проводили за Грицаєнком і співавт. (2003), фосфору, білка – за Починок (1976), цукрів – за Крищенко (1983), целюлози – за Zheng et al. (2018), ліпідів – за Zamowski, Suzuki (2004). Були визначені параметри продуктивності рослин: урожайність наземної маси, вихід сухої маси, енергетична цінність сировини та вихід енергії з одиниці площі. Дані аналізовані статистично.Результати. Дослідження вмісту поживних речовин показало, що вміст сухої речовини знаходився в межах 18,90–29,3%, білка – 8,88–23,56, целюлози – 15,10–36,14, золи – 8,13–12,19, ліпідів – 1,83–3,97%; урожайність наземної маси – 45,0–139,0 т/га, вихід сухої речовини – 10,31–36,92 т/га, енергетична цінність фітосировини – 3933–4249 кал/г, вихід енергії з урожаєм – 43,81–149,27 Гкал/га. Дослідження генотипів у період квітування та в кінці вегетації дало змогу виявити, що вміст сухої речовини в усіх зразках становив 18,38–67,49%, цукрів – 2,78–19,0, золи – 3,93–11,20, кальцію – 1,68–5,99, фосфору – 0,14–1,21%, енергетична цінність – 3153,36–3770,28 кал/г.Висновки. Рослинна сировина генотипів Silphium L. spp. є цінним джерелом поживних речовин. Уміст золи, її компоненти, енергетична цінність та параметри продуктивності залежить від генотипу та періоду росту й розвитку рослин. Результати досліджень дають змогу рекомендувати деякі генотипи Silphium як перспективні енергетичні культури в Україні, а також інших країнах.

Quantitative and qualitative indicators of seeds are important economic and valuable features. The lack of pubescence on plants is unique.Methods. Field, special, laboratory and mathematical-statistical.Results. The minimum fat content of 20.88% was observed in the seeds of the non-pubescent variety ‘Kobra’, 23.73% in the line No 305, and 25.02% in the line No 22. The varieties ‘Diamant’ and ‘Antratsyt’ had a high fat content – 24.08–25.83%. The protein content in the green mass of promising lines was very low – up to 16%. The fat content was in the range of 2.1–5.3% with the maximum value in the lines No 3 and No 7 – 4.67–5.26%. The protein content in ‘Anakonda’ seeds and No 1 and No 9 lines was 36–37%, in standard varieties – at the level of 29.5–35.63%. A comparison of new non-pubescent lines with standard varieties and the most productive varieties ‘Diamant’ and ‘Adamos’, which are included in the Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine and meet the requirements for efficient use in fodder production.Conclusions. Lack of pubescence in soybean plants is an extremely rare and atypical phenomenon. There are no such varieties in the state register of plant varieties of Ukraine. More than 50 non-pubescent lines exceed the indicators of economic suitability of national standards and modern varieties. Lines No 4, No 5, No 7, No 8, which had more than 15% protein in the green mass, should be involved in the selection process to create fodder varieties. The ‘Anakonda’ line has a nutritional value with a minimum content of linolenic acid in the oil (6.08%). Increased oleic acid content was observed in varieties ‘Adamos’ (35.01%), ‘Diamant’ (33.53%), ‘Ametyst’ (31.39%). | Мета. Створити новий вихідний матеріал сої без опушення, визначити його селекційну цінність для ефективного використання продуктів переробки в годівлі тварин, що забезпечить отримання високої продуктивності останніх. Важливими господарсько-цінними ознаками при цьому є кількісні та якісні показники насіння. Відсутність опушення рослин є унікальним.Методи. Польові, спеціальні, лабораторні та математично-статистичні. Результати. Мінімальний уміст жиру в насінні – 20,88% відзначено в неопушеного сорту ‘Кобра’, у ліній № 305 та № 22 – 23,73 і 25,02% відповідно. Високим умістом жиру характеризувалися сорти ‘Алмаз’ і ‘Антрацит’ – 24,08 і 25,83%. Уміст білка в зеленій масі перспективних ліній був дуже низьким – до 16%. Уміст жиру був у межах від 2,1 до 5,3% з максимальними значеннями в ліній № 3 і № 7 – 4,67 і 5,26% відповідно. Уміст білка в насінні ‘Анаконда’ та ліній № 1 і № 9 був на рівні 36–37%, у сортів-стандартів – 29,57–35,63%. Порівняно нові лінії без опушення із сортами-стандартами та найурожайнішими сортами ‘Алмаз’ і ‘Адамос’, які занесені до Державного реєстру сортів рослин України та відповідають вимогам ефективного використання в кормовиробництві.Висновки. Відсутність опушення в рослин сої – надзвичайно рідкісне й нетипове явище. У Держреєстрі такі сорти відсутні. Понад 50 неопушених ліній культури перевищують показники господарської придатності національних стандартів і сучасних сортів. У процесі створення нових сортів з підвищеним умістом жиру в насінні доцільно використовувати неопушені лінії № 305 (23,73%) і № 22 (25,02%). Для створення кормових сортів у селекційний процес слід залучати лінії № 4, № 5, № 7, № 8, які мали в зеленій масі понад 15% протеїну. Високою харчовою цінністю характеризується лінія ‘Анаконда’ з мінімальним умістом в олії ліноленової кислоти (6,08%). Підвищений уміст олеїнової кислоти відзначено в сортів ‘Адамос’ (35,01%), ‘Алмаз’ (33,53%), ‘Аметист’ (31,39%).

Methods. Field, laboratory, biochemical and statistical. Results. In total 22 soybean varieties of various origin in terms of yield, protein and oil content in seeds were investigated. High-yield and high-plasticity varieties are distinguished: ‘Muza’, ‘Mentor’, ‘Asuka’, ‘Valas’, ‘Kofu’, ‘Asuka’, ‘Cardif’, ‘Alligator’, ‘Vyshyvanka’, ‘Suziria’ and varieties of domestic breeding with stable yield ‘Siverka’, ‘Vilshanka’, ‘Ustia’, and also the ‘Lisbon’ variety. High protein content was noted in the variety ‘Opus’ – 45.0% in 2017. This variety on average for three years showed 43.63% of the protein in the seeds, and was second after the ‘Ustia’ variety (44.3%). The highest value of the regression coefficient b = 4.289 was observed in the ‘Lisbon’ varie­ty, which shows its high sensitivity to growing conditions with a fairly low average seed protein content of 38.60%, as well as the variety ‘Silesia’ b = 4.289 with an average protein value of 42,73%. Standard variety ‘Muza’ with a low protein content of 38.60% was quite stable in the expression of this characteristic – S2 = 0.222. A number of high-oil varieties were distinguished: ‘Valas’ – 22.77%, ‘Sigalia’ – 22.7%, ‘Alligator’, ‘Siverka’ – 22.53%, ‘Kofu’ – 22.13%, standard variety ‘Muza’ – 21.77%. Conclusions. In breeding programs aimed at increasing the protein content in seeds, the following varieties should be used: ‘Opus’ – as a carrier of the maximum value of the trait, as well as ‘Ustia’, ‘Asuka’, ‘Silesia’ and ‘Kasidi’ as combining high yield and high protein content. The weather conditions of the year in different ways influenced on the manifestation of the studied traits: in a favorable year for obtaining high yields, the protein content in the seeds decreased, the high protein content accumulated in a drier year, and the oil content in seeds changed insignificantly.

Мета. Вивчити сорти сої різного походження за вмістом білка та іншими господарськими ознаками, визначити показники стабільності та пластичності цих ознак, а також виділити сорти, перспективні для використання у селекційних програмах.Методи. Польові, лабораторні, біохімічні та статистичні.Результати. Досліджено 22 сорти сої за врожайністю, вмістом білка та олії в насінні. Виділено пластичні сорти, що мають високу врожайність: ‘Муза’, ‘Ментор’, ‘Асука’, ‘Валас’, ‘Кофу’, ‘Кардіф’, ‘Алігатор’, ‘Вишиванка’, ‘Сузір’я’ та стабільні за врожайністю сорти вітчизняної селекції ‘Сіверка’, ‘Вільшанка’, ‘Устя’, а також сорт ‘Лісабон’. Найвищий уміст білка відмічено у сорту ‘Опус’ – 45,0% у 2017 році. Цей сорт у середньому за три роки показав 43,63% білка в насінні і поступався тільки сорту ‘Устя’ (44,3%). Проте значно вище значення коефіцієнта регресії b = 4,289  у сорту ‘Лісабон’ показало його високу чутливість до умов вирощування при досить низькому середньому значенні вмісту білка в насінні (38,60%), як і сорт ‘Сілесія‘ (b = 4,289) при середньому значенні білковості – 42,73%.  Сорт-стандарт ‘Муза’ при низькій білковості 38,60% був досить стабільним за проявом цієї ознаки – S2 = 0,222.  Виділено низку сортів з високим вмістом олії в насінні: ‘Валас’ – 22,77%, ‘Сігалія’ – 22,7%, ‘Алігатор’,  ‘Сіверка’ – 22,53%, ‘Кофу’ – 22,13%, сорт-стандарт ‘Муза’ – 21,77%.Висновки. У селекційних програмах, спрямованих на підвищення вмісту білка в насінні, слід використовувати  сорти: ‘Опус’ – як носій максимального значення ознаки, ‘Устя’, ‘Асука’, ‘Сілесія’ та ‘Касіді’ – як високоврожайні з високим умістом білка. Погодні умови року неоднаково впливали на прояв  досліджуваних ознак: у сприятливий для отримання високих урожаїв рік вміст білка в насінні знижувався, у посушливіший рік уміст білка був вищим, а вміст олії в насінні змінювався незначно. | Цель. Изучить сорта сои различного происхождения по содержанию белка и других хозяйственно ценных признаках, определить показатели стабильности и пластичности этих признаков, а также выделить сорта, перспективные для использования в селекционных программах.Методы. Полевые, лабораторные, биохимические и статистические.Результаты. Исследовано 22 сорта сои различного происхождения по урожайности, содержанию белка и масла в семенах. A number of high-oil varieties were distinguished: ‘Valas’ – 22.77%, ‘Sigalia’ – 22.7%, ‘Alligator’, ‘Siverka’ – 22.53%, ‘Kofu’ – 22.13%, standard variety ‘Muza’ – 21.77%. Conclusions. In breeding programs aimed at increasing the protein content in seeds, the following varieties should be used: ‘Opus’ – as a carrier of the maximum value of the trait, as well as ‘Ustia’, ‘Asuka’, ‘Silesia’ and ‘Kasidi’ as combining high yield and high protein content. The weather conditions of the year in different ways influenced on the manifestation of the studied traits: in a favorable year for obtaining high yields, the protein content in the seeds decreased, the high protein content accumulated in a drier year, and the oil content in seeds changed insignificantly.

Сиквенсы гена als различных представителей семейства Злаковых были получены из базы данных NCBI: Nucleotide. Для сравнения был использован фрагмент гена imi-2 пшеницы мягкой линии ‘TealIMI11A’ в двух участках сиквенса 367–390 и 1729–1749 нуклеотидов. Для оценки наличия нуклеотидных замен в рабочих сиквенсах гена imi-2 использовали инструмент ‘Sequence Viewer 3.37.0’. Дендрограмму строили с использованием инструмента “Blast Tree” с ресурса NCBI: Blast: Nucleotide. Результаты. Был проведен сравнительный анализ нуклео­тидных последовательностей семи различных видов: пшеницы мягкой (Triticum aestivum L.), овсюга обыкновенного (Avena fatua L.), ячменя обыкновенного (Hordeum vulgare L.), риса посевного (Oryza sativa L.), кукурузы (Zea mays L.), сорго алепского (Sorghum halepense Pers.) и эгилопса Тауша (Aegilops tauschii Coss.). На основе сравнительного анализа сиквенса участков гена іmi-2 для 7-ми генотипов построили филогенетическое дерево, которое показало, что исследованные виды можно разделить на два блока. В первый блок вошли кукуруза и сорго алеппское, а ко второму блоку – рис посевной, овсюг обыкновенный, ячмень обыкновенный, пшеница мягкая и эгилопс Тауша. Определение степени гомологии между последовательностью 367–390 нуклеотида пшеницы мягкой и другими видами показала, что абсолютной была гомология с соответствующими последовательностями риса посевного, эгилопса Тауша и овсюга обыкновенного (100%). Наименьшим нуклеотидное родство оказалось для кукурузы и сорго алеппского – по 83,3%. На участке 1729–1749 нук­леотидов гена іmi-2 никакой из 6 сиквенсов не показал 100% гомологии с последовательностью пшеницы мягкой. Самой высокой она была для ячменя обыкновенного и эгилопса Тауша – 95,2%, а наименьшей для риса посевного, кукурузы и сорго алеппского – по 80,9%.Выводы. Проведенный анализ подтверждает значительную степень гомологии последовательности гена als для различных видов семейства Злаковых. Это позволяет допустить возможность создания универсальной генетической конструкции, с помощью которой можно осуществлять редактирование генома и получения растений, устойчивых к гербициду разных представителей этой семьи. Учитывая высокую степень гомологии последовательностей для таких видов как пшеница мягкая, эгилопс Тауша, ячмень обыкновенный, рис посевной и овсюг обыкновенный, можно предположить, что с наибольшей эффективностью соответствующая генетическая конструкция может быть использована для редактирования гена als именно этих генотипов. | Провести біоінформатичний аналіз та порівняти цільові ділянки гена ацетолактат синтази (als) у декількох представників родини Злакових і на основі отриманих даних дослідити можливість створення уніфікованої генетичної конструкції для направленого редагування гена als за допомогою системи CRISPR-Cas9. Методи. Сиквенси гена als різних представників родини Злакових було отримано з бази даних NCBI: Nucleotide. Було проаналізовано нуклеотидні послідовності сімох різних видів: пшениці м’якої (TriticumaestivumL.), вівсюга звичайного (AvenafatuaL.), ячменю звичайного (HordeumvulgareL.), рису посівного (OryzasativaL.), кукурудзи (ZeamaysL.), сорго алепського (SorghumhalepensePers.) та егілопса Тауша (AegilopstauschiiCoss.). На основі порівняльного аналізу сиквенсу ділянок гена іmi-2 для 7-ми генотипів було побудовано філогенетичне дерево, яке показало, що досліджені види можна поділити на два блоки. До одного з них увійшли кукурудза та сорго алепське, а до другого – рис посівний, вівсюг звичайний, ячмінь звичайний, пшениця м’яка та егілопс Тауша. Визначення ступеня гомології між послідовністю 367–390 нуклеотиду пшениці м’якої та іншими видами показало, що абсолютною була гомологія з відповідними послідовностями рису посівного, егілопса Тауша та вісюга звичайного (100%). Найменшою нуклеотидна спорідненість виявилась для кукурудзи та сорго алепського – 83,3%. У ділянці 1729–1749 нуклеотидів гена іmi-2 жоден з 6 сиквенсів не показав 100% гомології з послідовністю пшениці м’якої. Найвищою вона була до ячменю звичайного та егілопсу Тауша – 95,2%, а найменшою для рису посівного, кукурудзи та сорго алепського – по 80,9%. Висновки. Проведений аналіз підтверджує значний ступінь гомології послідовності гена als для різних видів родини Злакових. Це дозволяє зробити припущення про можливість створення універсальної генетичної конструкції, за допомогою якої можна редагувати геном та отримувати рослини, стійкі до гербіцидів різних представників цієї родини. Зважаючи на вищий ступінь гомології послідовностей для таких видів як пшениця м’яка, егілопс Тауша, ячмінь звичайний, рис посівний та вівсюг звичайний, можна припустити, що ефективнішою відповідна генетична конструкція буде для редагування гена als саме цих генотипів.

Analysis of the allelic state of Ppd-1 genes, which control sensitivity to photoperiod, in varieties and lines of bread winter wheat, and comparison of the results obtained with field observations on the duration of periods before heading and flowering, whose originators were the Nosivska Breeding and Research Station of the V. M. Remeslo Myronivka Institute of Wheat National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine and Poltava State Agrarian Academy of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Methods. The following methods were used in the work: DNA extraction, allele-specific PCR, agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, analysis of variance. Results. It was revealed that ‘Yuvivata 60’ variety has a recessive Ppd-1 genotype and belongs to the III haplotype by a combination of mutations in the structure of Ppd-D1 gene. Line ‘L41/95’ was heterogeneous by alleles of Ppd-D1 gene, which corresponded to the presence of haplotypes III and VII. All other tested cultivars and lines were characterized by alleles Ppd-A1b, Ppd-B1b and Ppd-D1a, and assigned to haplotype VII. According to the results of statistical data processing, the duration of the period from May, 1 to heading was the smallest for the variety ‘Donskaya polukarlikovaya’ in the conditions of both the Forest-Steppe and Polissia-Forest-Steppe regions of Ukraine, the longest – in the varieties ‘Yuvivata 60’, ‘Myronivska 61’ and ‘L41/95’. The differences between these groups were significant and amounted to 10 days. Conclusions. A breeding material with a high adaptive ability for growing conditions in Polissia-Forest-Steppe zone was studied by the allelic state of the Ppd-1 genes. A low level of polymorphism in the studied varieties and lines was revealed by the alleles of Ppd-1 genes [12.5% – Ppd-D1b (²²²), 12.5% – Ppd-D1à/b (²²²/VII), 75% – Ppd-D1a (VII)], that agrees with the hypothesis that breeders gave a greater preference for the photoperiod-insensitive wheat genotype under Ukrainian conditions. The genotypes with the dominant Ppd-D1a (VII) gene almost completely dominate in the south of Ukraine. At the same time, in northern latitudes, weather conditions negate the advantages of the genotypes with Ppd-D1a gene

В. М. Ремесла НААН (НСДС МІП) і Полтавської державної аграрної академії МОН України (ПДАА), та зіставлення отриманих результатів молекулярно-генетичного аналізу з даними польових спостережень щодо строків колосіння та цвітіння.Методи. Виділення ДНК, алель-специфічна ПЛР, електрофорез фрагментів ампліфікації в агарозних та полі­акриаламідних гелях, дисперсійний аналіз.Результати. Визначено, що сорт ‘Ювівата 60’ має рецесивний генотип Ppd-1 та належить до ІІІ гаплотипу за комбінацією мутацій у структурі Ppd-D1 гена. Лінія ‘Л41/95’ виявилася гетерогенною за алелями гена Ppd-D1, що відповідало наявності гаплотипів III і VII. Усі інші досліджені зразки характеризувалися алелями Ppd-A1b, Ppd-B1b та Ppd-D1а та належали до гаплотипу VII. За результатами статистичної обробки даних тривалість періоду від першого травня до колосіння була найменшою в сорту ‘Донская полукарликовая’ в умовах як Лісостепу, так і Полісся–Лісостепу Ук­раїни, найбільшою – у сортів ‘Ювівата 60’, ‘Миронівська 61’ та лінії ‘Л41/95’. Відмінності між зазначеними групами були достовірними й становили приблизно 10 діб.Висновки. За алельним станом генів Ppd-1 досліджено селекційний матеріал з високою адаптивною здатністю для умов вирощування в перехідній зоні Полісся–Лісостеп. За алелями генів Ppd-1 досліджені сорти та лінії виявили невисокий рівень поліморфізму [12,5% – Ppd-D1b (ІІІ), 12,5% – Ppd-D1а/b (ІІІ/VII), 75% – Ppd-D1a (VII)], що узгоджується з гіпо­тезою надання селекціонерами більшої переваги слабкочутливим до фотоперіоду генотипам пшениці в умовах України. Генотипи з домінантним алелем Ppd-D1a (VII) в умовах Півдня України практично повністю домінують. Водночас у північніших широтах погодні умови нівелюють переваги, що мають генотипи з Ppd-D1a.

Purpose. To study the effect of different sowing periods, seed sowing rates onto morphological and crop capacity indicators of oilseeds flax of Ukrainian varieties: ‘Orfei’, ‘Svito­zir’ and ‘Vodohrai’. Methods. The research was conducted in 2018–2019 in the branch of Ukrainian institute of plant varieties expertise in Khmelnytsky oblast state centre of plant varieties expertise, village Trebukhivtsi, Letychiv region, Khmelnytsky oblast. The following factors are studied: sowing period (15, 20, 25 April); seed sowing rates in million items per hectare (4, 6, 8); varieties of oilseed flax from The Institute of oilseed plants of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine: ‘Orfei’, ‘Svitozir’ and ‘Vodo­hrai’. Embedding experiments, material estimation, plants, harvest and seeds analysis are done in accordance with the “The method for the qualification examination of plant varieties for suitability for distribution in Ukraine”. Results. The credible difference between the variants according to the rate of sowing the seed and the terms of so­wing was defined. The estimation of the oilseed flax varieties according to the morphological and harvesting indicators was done. The variety of oilseed flaxseed ‘Svitlozar’ demonstrated higher harvest rate and morphological indicators in a so­wing period of 20–25 April and the sowing rate 6 and 8 million seed per1 hectare. It was also revealed, that regardless of a variety, the sowing rate of 6 million seeds per one hec­tare is the best of all. A better number of capsules, the seeds in the capsules and the weight of the seeds in the plant was formed by the variety ‘Svitlozir’ compared to the varieties ‘Orfei’ and ‘Vodohrai’. With early sowing period, the smal­-lest values of morphological and yield indices were observed in the varieties of flaxseed, irrespective of the variety and norms of seeding. Conclusions. For more full realization of the genetic potential of the varieties of oilseed flax according to the morphological and harvest indicators in the conditions of Western Forest-Steppe the sawing rate must be 8 million seeds per one hectare, and the sawing period of 20–25 April. The variety ‘Svitlozir’ is characterized by its higher crop capacity and morphological indicators

Мета. Вивчити вплив різних строків сівби, норм висіву насіння на морфологічні та врожайні параметри сортів льону олійного Linum humile Mill. селекції Інституту олійних культур НААН України ‘Орфей’, ‘Світозір’ і ‘Водограй’.Методи. Дослідження проводили упродовж 2018–2019 рр. у філії Українського інституту експертизи сортів рослин – Хмельницькому обласному державному центрі експертизи сортів рослин, с. Требухівці Летичівського району Хмельницької області. Вивчали такі фактори: строк сівби (15, 20, 25 квітня); норму висіву насіння в млн шт./га (4,0; 6,0; 8,0); сорти льону олійного ‘Орфей’, ‘Світлозір’, ‘Водограй’. Закладання дослідів, оцінювання матеріалу, аналіз рослин, урожаю та якості насіння здійснювали відповідно до Методики проведення кваліфікаційної експертизи сортів рослин групи технічних і кормових на придатність до поширення в Україні.Результати. Встановили достовірну різницю між варіантами за нормою висіву насіння і строками сівби. Сорти льону олійного оцінили за морфологічними і врожайними показниками залежно від досліджуваних факторів. Вищу врожайність і кращі морфологічні показники за роки досліджень спостерігали у сорту льону олійного ‘Світлозір’ за строків сівби 20 та 25 квітня і норми висіву насіння 6,0 і 8,0 млн насінин на гектар. У всіх сортів кращою за усіма варіантами була норма висіву насіння 8,0 млн шт./га. Більшу кількість коробочок, кількість насінин у коробочці і масу насіння з однієї рослини формував сорт льону олійного ‘Світлозір’ порівняно із сортами ‘Орфей’ і ‘Водограй’ за вищезгаданих факторів. За раннього строку сівби незалежно від сорту і норми висіву насіння спостерігали найменші величини морфологічних і врожайних показників у рослин льону олійного.Висновки. Для повнішої реалізації генетичного потенціалу сортів льону олійного за врожайними і морфологічними показниками в умовах Лісостепу Західного норма висіву насіння повинна бути 6,0 і 8,0 млн шт./га за строків сівби 20 і 25 квітня. Вищою врожайністю і покращеними морфологічними показниками характеризувався сорт льону ‘Світлозір’. | Цель. Изучить влияние различных сроков посева, норм высева семян на морфологические и урожайные параметры сортов льна масличного Linum humile Mill. селекции Института масличных культур НААН Украины ‘Орфей’, ‘Світозір’ и ‘Водограй’.Методы. Исследования проводились на протяжении 2018–2019 гг. в филиале Украинского института экспертизы сортов растений  – Хмельницком областном государственном центре экспертизы сортов растений, с. Требуховцы Летичевского района Хмельницкой области. Изучали следующие факторы: срок посева (15, 20, 25 апреля); норму высева семян млн шт./га (4,0; 6,0; 8,0); сорта льна масличного ‘Орфей’, ‘Світлозір’, ‘Водограй’. Закладка опытов, оценка материала, анализ растений, урожая и качества семян проведены в соответствии с Методикой проведения квалификационной экспертизы сортов растений на пригодность к распространению в Украине.Результаты. Установили достоверную разницу между вариантами по норме высева семян и срокам посева. Сорта льна масличного оценили по морфологическим и урожайным показателям в зависимости от исследуемых факторов. Высшую урожайность и лучшие морфологические показатели за годы исследований наблюдали у сор­та льна масличного ‘Світлозір’ при сроке посева 20 и 25 апреля и норме высева семян 6,0 и 8,0 млн семян на гектар. Независимо от сорта лучшей по всем вариантам была норма высева семян 6,0 и 8,0 млн шт./га. Большее количество коробочек, количество семян в коробочке и массу семян с одного растения формировал сорт льна масличного ‘Світлозір’ по сравнению с сортами ‘Орфей’ и ‘Водограй’ за вышеупомянутыми факторами. При раннем сроке посева независимо от сорта и нормы высева наблюдали наименьшую величину морфологических и урожайных показателей у растений льна масличного.Выводы. Для более полной реализации генетического потенциала сортов льна масличного по морфологическим и урожайным показателям в условиях Лесостепи Западной норма высева семян должна составлять 6,0 и 8,0 млн шт./га при сроках посева 20 и 25 апреля. To study the effect of different sowing periods, seed sowing rates onto morphological and crop capacity indicators of oilseeds flax of Ukrainian varieties: ‘Orfei’, ‘Svito­zir’ and ‘Vodohrai’. Methods. The research was conducted in 2018–2019 in the branch of Ukrainian institute of plant varieties expertise in Khmelnytsky oblast state centre of plant varieties expertise, village Trebukhivtsi, Letychiv region, Khmelnytsky oblast. The following factors are studied: sowing period (15, 20, 25 April); seed sowing rates in million items per hectare (4, 6, 8); varieties of oilseed flax from The Institute of oilseed plants of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences of Ukraine: ‘Orfei’, ‘Svitozir’ and ‘Vodo­hrai’. Embedding experiments, material estimation, plants, harvest and seeds analysis are done in accordance with the “The method for the qualification examination of plant varieties for suitability for distribution in Ukraine”. Results. The credible difference between the variants according to the rate of sowing the seed and the terms of so­wing was defined. The estimation of the oilseed flax varieties according to the morphological and harvesting indicators was done. The variety of oilseed flaxseed ‘Svitlozar’ demonstrated higher harvest rate and morphological indicators in a so­wing period of 20–25 April and the sowing rate 6 and 8 million seed per1 hectare. It was also revealed, that regardless of a variety, the sowing rate of 6 million seeds per one hec­tare is the best of all. A better number of capsules, the seeds in the capsules and the weight of the seeds in the plant was formed by the variety ‘Svitlozir’ compared to the varieties ‘Orfei’ and ‘Vodohrai’. With early sowing period, the smal­-lest values of morphological and yield indices were observed in the varieties of flaxseed, irrespective of the variety and norms of seeding.Conclusions. For more full realization of the genetic potential of the varieties of oilseed flax according to the morphological and harvest indicators in the conditions of Western Forest-Steppe the sawing rate must be 8 million seeds per one hectare, and the sawing period of 20–25 April. The variety ‘Svitlozir’ is characterized by its higher crop capacity and morphological indicators

Purpose. To analyse the world experience and current trends in protection of new apples varieties and plant breeders’ rights. Results. It takes up to 20 years to developed a new variety of apple trees from crossing, in addition to considerable material resources; another 5–10 years are spent on its introduction into a broad culture. After the licensing agreement, the cultivar owner receives royalties for each tree sold, but such a scheme presents risks for both cultivar owners and apple producers. Most of the time allotted for the protection of the variety may be exhausted before it becomes popular with consumers. To overcome the negative traits inherent in “open cultivars”, new marketing mechanisms using “managed” or club cultivars are used. The cultivar owner obtains a USPP or PBR in a producing country. He usually also registers one or more trademarks in each of countries where fruit will be sold. Licensing agreements for tree propagation and fruit production are usually licensed to one or a few producers or marketers in a production territory along with rights to use a trademark for sales in one or more countries. In return, the cultivar owner receives an exclusivity payment, a royalty from each apple tree propagated, and a proportion of the fruit sale. The producer agrees to milestones for orchard establishment and fruit production and maintenance of quality standards. The advantage for growers is the ability to raise prices by limi­ting supply and the benefits of promoting apples in the market. Retailers are generally interested in registered varieties due to the higher selling prices and the potential for exclusivity of branded varieties. Due to the large volume of supply of many varieties, manufacturers consider new club varieties necessary for maintaining profitability. It is projected that in the near future the share of club varieties may increase from the current 5% to 15–20%. Conclusions. The licensing of the trademark provides a marketer to build a brand that can contribute to a lengthy and indefinite exclusivity period of the cultivar with proper management of intellectual property and apple production and quality. Income on the use of trademark in fruit sales can have sustained and potentially larger to cultivar owner. Only apples of certain quality standards are sold under brand names at higher prices, increasing profitability and providing a more stable annual income for the producer. The efficiency of the brand system means that in the future, new apple varieties will be launched exclusively under their own brand, and the introduction of new varieties will bring greater benefits to producers and consumers.

Мета. Проаналізувати світовий досвід і сучасні тенденції охорони нових сортів яблук та прав селекціонера. Результати. На створення нового сорту яблуні шляхом схрещування, окрім значних матеріальних ресурсів, витрачається до 20 років; ще 5–10 років йде на його впровадження в широку культуру. Власник сорту після укладання ліцензійної угоди отримує роялті за кожний проданий саджанець, але така схема є ризикованою як для власників сортів, так і для виробників садовини. Більша частина часу, що відведена для охорони сорту, може бути вичерпаною ще до того, як він набуде популярності в споживачів. Для подолання негативних рис, притаманних «відкритим» сортам, застосовуються нові маркетингові механізми з використанням «закритих», або клубних сортів. Власник сорту отримує патент США або охорону прав селекціонера в країні виробництва та, зазвичай, також реєструє одну або декілька торговельних марок для збуту в кожній країні, де садовина буде продаватися. Ліцензійні угоди на вирощування садивного матеріалу і виробництво плодів як правило укладаються для одного або декількох виробників чи продавців у країні разом з правами використовувати торговельну марку для продажів в одній чи декількох країнах. У свою чергу власник сорту отримує ексклюзивні платежі – роялті з кожного проданого саджанця і відсоток від продажу плодів. Виробник погоджується з етапами створення саду і виробництва плодів та підтриманням стандартів якості. Перевага для виробників полягає в можливості підвищення ціни за рахунок обмеження пропозиції і переваг у просуванні яблук на ринку. Роздрібні торговці, як правило, зацікавлені в зареєстрованих сортах завдяки вищим цінам реалізації та потенціалу ексклюзивності брендових сортів. За великих обсягів постачання багатьох сортів виробники вважають нові клубні сорти необхідними для підтримання прибутковості. Прогнозують, що найближчим часом частка клубних сортів може збільшитися із теперішніх 5 до 15–20%. Висновки. Ліцензування торговельної марки стимулює маркетолога розвивати бренд, який може сприяти тривалому і невизначеному періоду винятковості сорту з розширенням можливостей управління інтелектуальною власністю, виробництвом садовини та її якістю. Дохід власника сорту внаслідок використання торговельної марки під час продажу плодів може бути тривалішим і більшим. Яблука, що відповідають стандартам якості, продають під брендовими назвами за вищими цінами, збільшуючи прибуток і забезпечуючи стабільніший річний дохід для виробника. Ефективність системи брендів означає, що в майбутньому нові сорти яблук виходитимуть у світ виключно під власним брендом, а впровадження нових сортів надасть більших переваг виробникам та споживачам садовини. | Цель. To evaluate Tartary buckwheat variety ‘Kalyna’ according to morphological, productive and quality indicators in the conditions of the Research Center “State Agra­rian and Engineering University in Podilia”. Methods. The studies were carried out in the field crop rotation of the Research Center “Podillia” of the State Agrarian and Engi­neering University in Podilia (SAEU) in 2015–2020. The soil cover of the experimental field is represented mainly by low-humus, weakly leached soils. Experiment setting, material evaluation, analysis of plants, yield and grain quality were carried out in accordance with the generally accepted methods of state variety testing. An assessment of the Tartary buckwheat variety ‘Kalyna’ was carried out in comparison with the common buckwheat variety ‘Victoriia’. Results. The growing season duration of Tartary buckwheat variety ‘Kalyna’ was 87 days (38 days vegetative and 49 days gene­rative). In the studied variety, a larger number of the 1st order branches up to 5.5 pcs was observed. The number of leaves on the plant was 22–28 pcs./plants. In the studied variety, more than 50% of the grains were located on the main stem and the first order branches, while in common buckwheat this indicator was only 30%. Productivity was 2,28 t/ha, the number of grains in inflorescences was 4,4 grains, in common buckwheat – 0,72 t/ha, and 2.2 grains/inflorescence, respectively. The thousand kernel weight in Tartary buckwheat variety ‘Kalyna’ is 10.2 g less than in common buckwheat variety ‘Victoriia’ and is 17.4 g, with hulls – 19.5%, which is 3.2% less then in common buckwheat variety.Assessment of Tartary buckwheat variety ‘Kalyna’ for resistance to the effects of bio- and abiotic factors indicates that it was at the level of common buckwheat variety ‘Victoriia’.In terms of resistance to abiotic factors, ‘Kalyna’ variety is characterized by high resistance to spontaneous fallof grain (5 scores) and has simultaneous grain ripening (5 scores). Conclusions.The morphological and economic-biological indicators of Tartary buckwheat variety ‘Kalyna’ are significantly higher than the common buckwheat varie­ty ‘Victoriia’. It is recommended to grow Tartary buckwheat variety ‘Kalyna’ as a valuable cereal crop in the Western Forest-Steppe zone.

Purpose. To study the stability and plasticity of spring rapeseed varieties, in order to assess their adaptability potential in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe and Polissia zones, and also select the most ecologically plastic varieties among them. Methods. Field, laboratory, analytical and statistical. Results. Seven varieties of spring rapeseed, included in the State Register of Plant Varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine, were studied on indicators of plasticity and stability of yield traits, weight of 1000 seeds, protein and oil content. The highly plastic intensive varieties ‘DK 7150 CL’, ‘DK 7160 CL’ and ‘Sunder’ were selected for yield among the studied varieties, which are able to respond appropriately to changing of growing conditions. Varieties ‘DK 7150 CL’ and ‘DK 7160 CL’ belong to intensive varieties for the parameter of weight of 1000 seeds. The variety ‘Sunder’ was also highly plastic for this parameter. The varieties ‘Axana’, ‘Bilder’ and ‘CLICK CL’, according to their protein content, belong to the intensive type varieties that are capable of combining sufficiently high valu­es of the studied parameter with its stability under changing conditions. Variety ‘DK 7150 CL’, which was low-plastic, has a rather low positive value of the average group deviation of the reaction stability coefficient, therefore, it can be attributed to widely adapted genotypes. Varieties ‘DK 7160 CL’, ‘DK 7175 CL’ and ‘Sander’ belong to highly plastic intensive varieties in oil content. Varieties ‘DK 7175 CL’, ‘Builder’ and ‘CLICK CL’ are showed high stability for yield, varieties ‘Axana’, ‘Sunder’ and ‘CLICK CL’ for weight of 1000 seeds. The varie­ties ‘DK 7160 CL’, ‘DK 7175 CL’, ‘DK 7150 CL’ and ‘Sunder’ were highly stable in protein content, in oil content – varieties ‘DK 7150 CL’, ‘Axana’, ‘Builder’ and ‘CLICK CL’. Conclusions. It were established that high-intensity varieties for yield and weight of 1000 seeds in the Steppe, Forest-Steppe and Polissia zones are ‘DC 7160 CL’ and ‘DK 7150 CL’, for protein content – varieties ‘Axana’, ‘Builder’ and ‘CLICK CL’, for oil content – varieties ‘DK 7160 CL’, ‘DK 7175 CL’ and ‘Sunder’. The evaluation of the plasticity and stability of rapeseed varieties, which were included in the State register of plant varieties suitable for dissemination in Ukraine, makes it possible to select varieties that belong to the intensive type. According to the research results, varieties which are able to successfully adapt to the limiting environmental factors and stress in various soil and climatic zones have been selected.

This contribution is based on the six presentations given at the Special Interest Group meeting on Mathematical modelling of fungal growth and function held during IMC9. The topics covered aspects of fungal growth ranging across several orders of magnitude of spatial and temporal scales from the biomechanics of spore ejection, vesicle trafficking and hyphal tip growth to the form and function of mycelial networks. Each contribution demonstrated an interdisciplinary approach to questions at specific scales. Collectively, they represented a significant advance in the multi-scale understanding offungal biology.
