The pH values of four brackish water fish ponds were statistically correlated with the rainfall. In all cases, a strong negative correlation was found. Significance level was at 5%, 10%, 5% and 2% for the ponds of size 0.15 ha., 0.25 ha., 1.00 ha., and 1.00 ha. respectively. Regression lines obtained for pH on rainfall indicate that the smaller ponds tend to suffer more severely from low pH with increased rainfall than larger ponds. Statistical treatment of the average pH with the total number of rainy days also produced negative correlations. Significance was at 5%, 5%, 2% and 2% respectively. The effect of salinity on the pH of pond water was also reviewed statistically. A strong positive correlation was found for all but one of the ponds examined
