Evaluation of pyroquilon [fungicide] seed treatment for blast (BL) control in upland rice

At 29 DS (after seeding) pyroquilon significantly reduced Bl infection in all varieties as compared to the benomyl-treated and the untreated control. Varieties did not significantly differ in panicle Bl or yield but were significantly different in susceptibility to leaf Bl. At 38 DS pyroquilon treatment reduced leaf Bl from 28 to 5% in susceptible IAC 47 and IAC 25. Treatment of moderately resistant CNA 104-B-34-2 kept disease level at 5% until 50 DS although difference were significant only at 29 DS.
