Culture and feeding of house fly Musca sp. larvae to Tilapia nilotica fingerlings (Philippines)

The larvae of house fly Musca sp. were cultured in plastic basins using fine rice bran, dried ipil-ipil leaves, ground rice hulls and Marfon. Results indicated that Marfon produced the highest fresh weight of larvae at the lowest price followed by fine rice bran. Feeding of T. nilotica in aquaria with frozen larvae gave feed conversion ratios of 1:8 and 1:9 for feeding rates of 17% and 37% of body weight, respectively
