This study was conducted to measure changes in the pore space of bulking materials subjected to various compression pressures as well as to investigate the effect of moisture contents, bulk weight, bulk density, and particle size on pore space for 5 different particle sizes. For efficient composting, a moisture content ranging from 55 to 65%, a bulk weight from 0.25 to 0.33 g/cm3, and particle sizes ranging from 1.5 to 5 cm will produce pore space ranging from 65 to 80%. The bulk density of fine particle size material was greater than coarse particle size material
