This experiment was to investigate the effects of duration on fattening performance and carcass characteristics of Korean [R.] native cows. Fifteen over 8 years old were allotted for 3 different lengths of period (120, 150 and 180 days). The carcass rate increased as the fattening period was prolonged, but the carcass characteristics and carcass grade were significantly different although more fats were deposited around kidney and pelvic. The optimum fattening period of the Korean [R.] native cows over 8 years old was 120 days on 500kg of body weight
