In a solution culture experiment, Al at concentration of 20 ppm and above, diminished the root length and grain yield in rice. However, Al was not toxic when it was applied in combination with P. Addition of Al or P increased the concentrations of the respective elements in the root. The contents of K, Ca, Mg, Fe and Mn in grain and straw decreased in the presence of Al while P addition enhanced the contents of K and Mg in grain
