In a field trial on black clayey soil of Akola, both the levels of phosphate viz., 40 kg and 80 kg P 2 5 0/ha significantly increased onion (Var-N.53) yield than control. Lower levels of potash (37.5 kg K 2 0/ha) in association with only higher level of phosphate (80 kg P 1 0 5/ha) recorded maximum yield. Iron did not improve onion production. Uptake of N, P and K was higher in all the treatments which gave higher yields
