Kader, F.A.
The aim of the present work is 1) To study the effect of honey bees on seed production of cabbage, radish, turnip, onion and sunflower. 2) To study the activity of honey bees on the flowers of experimental plants during different hours of the day. Experimental crops were planted. Two different treatments were used with each crop, unbagged plants and bagged plants. Four samples were collected from each replicant of the two treatments. The activity of bees visits of the flowers of each crop was also studied and found to be variable during different hours of the day. The data obtained of this study showed that honey bees was the most effective pollinating agent of experimental crops and its exclusion resulted in a serious reduction in floret settling: mean number of pods per plant, number of seeds per pod; weight of seeds per plant and percentage of seed germination
