Mineral nutrition of citrus in Taiwan
1984
Chiu, T.F. | Chang, S.S.
Responses of three element fertilizers to Citrus Ponkan (Citrus reticulata Blanco) in Taiwan showed that nitrogen was the highest, next was potassium and phosphorus was the lowest. A compound fertilizer with analyses of 16-8-12 was recommended in Taiwan citrus orchards. Dolomite application was effected in some magnesium deficient orchards. Indexes of the yields in the fertilizer plots of field trials were as follows: NPK (100), PK (974), NK (86), NP (81), NPKMg Mn Zn (113). Leaf analyses with a proposed criteria were done for the purpose of nutritional diagnosis of citrus. Boron deficiency of citrus was found where the leaf and peel boron content ws 10 ppm and the hot water soluble boron content in surface soils as 0.15 ppm. Soil application and foliar spray of boric acid were recommended for the correction of boron defficient orchards
