Initial weight of day-old chick fed with starter mash did not vary significantly during the first week of feeding period. Slow rate of growth was observed at earlier (1st week) growing period and becomes faster at later stages (2-7 weeks). Chicks fed with 60% quality protein maize (QPM) replacement for yellow corn appeared as the optimum level to produce heavier broilers starting from the second week up to the eight week of growing period. Weight increment and feed conversion ratio were also higher in broilers fed with 60% QPM substitution for yellow corn than other rations tested, and this level, therefore, appears as the optimum for feed replacement of yellow corn in the broiler ration. Overall, broilers net return per bird gradually increase by increasing the percentage of QPM replacement for yellow corn grits in the broiler ration but that 60% QPM replacement appeared as the optimum rate to produce heavy broilers and subsequently higher net return per bird
