Microbial proteins and non-conventional feedstuffs in animal production: the use of fermented poultry manure in breeding gilts and sows
1985
Baluyot, P.M.
Rations for breeding gilts and sows could be substituted with fermented poultry manure (FPM) (mixture of 40% copra meal, 10% rice bran, and 50% broiler manure) up to 70% substitution rate. The performance of the gilts and sows fed with 70% FPM was not significantly improved compared to the control. However, a great advantage is observed on the feed cost. The feed cost per sow is 40.9% less for those fed with 70% FPM compared to sows fed with standard ration
